We made it friends - q4! “It’s the most wonderful time, of the year” - maybe a little “the most stressful time of the year.” I promise it doesn’t have to be & I’m here to help!

Welcome to my October series to help you get prepared to have your best q4 ever! Selling through countless holiday shopping seasons – I’ve made mistakes, learned a ton & here we are. Let’s go!

1 Starting with 1 of the most important - taking stock in your stock. The cha-ching comes & then the panic. Ahhhh, where is that?! Save yourself time & stress by going through all, yes all, of your listed inventory & knowing its home.

Of course, there’s also the possibility that you are far more organized than me, & can skip this step entirely.

2 Find yourself a box fairy. Or several! Whether it’s through the NextDoor app, your social media platforms, your neighbors - now is the time to make sure you have more boxes than you can imagine. At the beginning of each quarter, reach out on Nextdoor to get free packing supplies right in your neighborhood.

This simple tool has lead to several local box fairies that text me when their boxes have taken over, I pick them up, they’re happy they’ve helped & I’m happy to have saved money & boxes from a landfill. Win. Win!

3 List holiday items. Early & often! As a collector & vintage Christmas fanatic – we shop for Christmas, year, round! October through the end of November being peak buying season. Don’t wait till December 15th, look around at your piles of unlisted holiday inventory – and feel that sinking feeling. List them NOW!

4 Go through a checklist of everything you need to clean, photograph & ship. Do you have backup magic erasers, goo gone, light bulbs, tissue paper, packing paper, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, tape, boxes, labels, box cuter, thank you cards? Whatever it is that’s a part of your selling process, take the time to follow your entire process - from picking to getting positive feedback – and ask yourself, do I have extra? Not enough, extra!

It’s been ages since an introduction from the face behind the business - so how about some fun facts and deep thoughts?!

I spent the majority of my life dancing and moved to NYC when I was 18 to pursue the dream.

I used to have a food blog and was approached by a reality tv firm to have my own cooking/ travel/ brewery show. As you can see, it was not picked up 😂.

I’m obsessed with otters and bees. I used to have an apiary and can’t wait to have one again.

I’m incapable of driving past any number of cows and not screaming “hello friends!”

I’m a recent Baltimore resident and had no idea how much this city and community were exactly what I needed!

And if you’ve made it this far - for the deep stuff. I just celebrated my 45th trip around the sun and it’s definitely sparked the introspective notions. One being that I’ve spent my 40s in the shadows. Living through the lense of worry and fear - about how anything and everything I did or said would be judged or criticized. So afraid of failing, that the laundry list of
goals for myself and this business went undone, as I watched others go for it and achieve what I had dreamed of. I could go on and on about the regrets of the past five years of life and business, but more than it be a pity party, I want to encourage anyone feeling the same. That it’s not too late to start. Life is short and not a dress rehearsal. Do the thing! Do it for yourself. Be yourself so that the people who sing your song can find you! Be bold. Be courageous. Don’t leave your gifts on a shelf. Don’t wait for the day “when.” The day is today. You got this!

Welcome to a new series called “will it art?” Where the answer to everything is “yes,” the objects vary, and the hope is that you’ll see art in new and unexpected places - everywhere you go!

Enter - the humble door k**b and lock. One of my favorite things about touring old homes is looking at hardware. The way a lock was more stunning at times than the door is sat in - bring it back!
