Was I looking for two new purses? No. Did I end up with 2 thrifted ones? Yes. Did I intend to buy 2 shirts & 4 pair of shorts at this thrift stop for Hubs? No. Did that happen? Yes. (I’m not sure who is more surprised by that—Hubs or me.) Did I have a cartful in about 10 minutes? Yes! I told the clerk, “Last week I was here, & I was looking for a blue shirt & a white shirt to go with patterned fabric pants. I didn’t find a thing. I looked for clothes for my husband—nothing. Today, I just popped in for a very quick second & found clothes for him, the white shirt & the blue shirt & a muffin pan & a journal & two purses.” She looked up from the register & said, “You want your stuff in a bag or a box?” Okay—apparently I was over-sharing with my chatter! 😂 And now I just told all of you my thrifted saga. It’s the age-old thrifted story anyway, isn’t it? “I just went in for one thing & then…”😂

And on every trip away from home, a little thrift must take place. That’s a rule I made up. 😎 I hope you’re all set for a sparkly, shiny 4th of July. Without missing a beat, I arrived home from NYC yesterday in the afternoon & Bonnie was here waiting for me. We’re fixin’ to fix our picnic food today for tomorrow’s celebrations. But of course, first I had to pull out my new thrifted stuff to show her & then spread everything out & take photos of them to show you! Always thinking of you, sisters, & so glad you hang out with me! ❤️🦩❤️ (Would you mind coming over to do laundry & squeeze lemons 🍋 with us?) 😂🦩😂

Oh, hey, hey! Look what I found at Wal-Mart today! Now it feels like summer! 🦩😎🦩 I want the pace of Life to slow down a little though. Just this past week, I thrifted for this “new” dress & woven sweater. (The straw purse is thrifted too but a long time ago). I washed them in cold water & hung them up to dry. They smelled so light & fresh today. I wore this combo to my two jobs—at my shop first, & then for my newspaper gig. I had to cover a lovely garden party for a special person in our community. I’ll tell you the story after I write it—if you’d like to read it. A guest there today said, “You can’t be a journalist. You’re too dressed up.” I wasn’t sure how to respond to that. 😎 I thought about doing the Minnie Pearl thing & saying, “Oh, this old thrifted thing?” Instead, I smiled & said “thank you.” 😎 I’d like to thank the ladies who donated these items—it’s been a fun clothes journey & I appreciate the opportunity to keep them going! Cheers!

I like to thrift when I’m having a bad day. I like to thrift when I’m having a good day! Haha Today was a great day & very productive so while I was out with Hubs on a hundred errands, I popped in for a bit of thrift, & added some fun to this summer Thursday. A storm was wreaking havoc outside but we managed to miss the rain at every stop. I didn’t need any more “new” clothes but I needed some inspiration for new outfits to wear to work. I hope you all have exactly the kind of weekend you’re hoping for. I’ll be working for the newspaper & at my shop but to sweeten the deal, I also have a birthday party to attend. I’ll tell you more about it in a few days—I think you’ll love this story. There’s also an art walk happening in my town & my shop is hosting one of my favorite artists! Maybe I’ll wear this pair of floral, silky pants I got tonight—they reminded me of a painting! Enjoy your night & stay safe! 🦩

Best $1.99 I ever spent while thrifting. It’s a risk to buy used puzzles in case there’s pieces missing but can’t beat the price! Miss Em & I did this one together until the very end. When Poppy got home, he put the last four pieces in. He hid the last one in his hand & tried to fool Em—she didn’t take the bait. 😎 He knew she’d have to be the one to fill in the last piece. She gets the last say anyway, so may as well! ❤️😎❤️

Might be the smallest thrift haul ever yesterday when the Divine Miss Em & I went gallivanting. One thing for her; one thing for me. Yes, her outfit is thrifted & she picked it out herself from her thrifted luggage before we headed out. She’s the perfect traveling companion & the best thrift buddy ever. Well, almost ever. I once had a little nephew that was easily tied for this role. Now it’s time for me to get back to work but that’s proving to be tricky since what we really want to do is play. ❤️
(We’d be walking & Em would suddenly proclaim this spot or that one would be a great place to take a photo. This rock shot was one of her ideas. I obliged. ❤️😎🦩)
