I am thrilled to release my first sock knitting pattern! The Road Trip Socks are a beginner-friendly sock pattern featuring slipped stitches for a simple, but extremely fun knit. Pair up a special skein in your stash, or pick up self-striping yarn to make these quick socks. My wonderful testers have worked hard to create amazing socks and refined this pattern for you!

The Road Trip Sock Pattern makes adult sized socks. The socks are knit top-down in the round with 2.25mm needles in sock (1) yarn. This pattern includes written instructions and requires knowledge of knitting terminology. Foot size measurements are approximate to the circumference of the ball of your foot: 8.5” (9.5”, 10.5”).

The Road Trip Socks are releasing tomorrow, July 9!

Nicole whipped up these shorties in just a few days, and picked the most fun, summery yarn for them.

Jennifer - made perfectly themed Dunkin' socks and even got the treats to match. Even with shorter color changes, the socks are adorable!

Angela used my custom color for Dances with Wool during the Dogwood Fiber Trail this year to create this adorable sock. The lightly variegated yarn, Spring on the Path, compliments the picot hem beautifully.

Road Trip Socks are coming this Thursday, July 9! My test knitters have worked up amazing pairs and provided valuable feedback, and I'm excited to share them with you:

Laura proved that rainbows work beautifully not only in self-striping yarn, but also in variegated yarn with this sock.

Nic .plans always has the cutest modeled photos, and this pair surely fits. The lightly variegated yarn with the cute picot edge makes for adorable ankle socks. Imagine these styled with a pair of Mary Janes!

Libby used the endlessly popular Sidewalk Chalk for a classic pair. The slipped stitches pop on this rainbow yarn!

Let me tell you a story...

Earlier this year, my wonderful friend Laurel of Alabaster Purl reached out about a custom color. Like many of us in the fiber community, Joann's closing put her in a bind with a gorgeous yarn, popular with her community. Serendipitously, I had been wanting to develop a deep teal color for one of my Millennial Nostalgia inspirations, so this became the perfect collaboration. After some testing, we found the perfect shade. This colorway will be released in August as a part of this year's collection, and the inspiration is very special to me.

I'm also very excited to be collaborating with a very talented designer to use these sport weight skeins for a special knit... stay tuned for more!

RELEASE DAY: Ride on the Magic School Bus!

The Magic School Bus books were a staple of so many 90s childhoods. The animated TV series brought the entire class to life, including the iconic Miss Frizzle and Liz! To this day, hearing the theme song sends me back to outer space, or through poor Arnold's digestive system... Where will we go next?

Tester Call: Toi et Moi Socks

I'm looking for test knitters to knit this intricate cable sock design! The Toi et Moi Socks are named because these socks are fully mirrored. With a left-leaning cable on one sock, and a right-leaning cable on the other, these socks are soulmates. I recommend a solid or lightly variegated yarn for these socks to highlight the cable pattern. This test is due on August 21, 2026.
