Imagine being 41 years old and loving an object you’ve had since the age of 3. My stuffed cow, Pumpalump, is 38 years old. The reason I love her so much goes a little deeper than Pumpy herself. One time I left her at my grandmother’s house and my Grammy Walters took it upon herself to knit Pumpy a special dress. Swipe to see my grandmother’s handiwork. She was incredible with all things needlework related. I’m in awe. This is why I had/have reverence for handmade needle crafts from a young age and why I became obsessed with becoming a “magic woman,” -what all the women in my family who sewed and knit seemed to me.
