Alright, I’m sure there’s a more “normal” way to do this, but here goes:

Spoke Pockette has grown 2.6x this year—and we’re not even done with our season.

We’re a woman-owned landscape design business built around a pretty simple idea: cities need more wildness.

More beautiful, living, ecologically-minded spaces. More reasons to get your hands in the dirt. More urban rewilding.

Inclusivity is something we practice. It’s not something I particularly want to put on a banner and congratulate ourselves for. We just want to build a company where people are welcome, treated well, and get to do good work.

Getting here hasn’t exactly been the easy road. There have been hurdles that scared some people away, and moments when even people who love us have kind of shrugged and wondered what the hell we were doing.

But we kept going.
And now we have something I’m really proud of:

Proof of concept.

We’ve built a business that is growing quickly, with a very lean crew, while doing work we genuinely believe needs to exist.

And now we’re looking for investment to take Spoke Pockette to the next level.

I’m not particularly interested in doing this the traditional way. I don’t want a room full of suits who see a landscape company as a line on a spreadsheet.

I want the weirdos. The scrappy ones. The doers.

Small business owners. People in adjacent service or design industries. People who understand what it takes to build something from the ground up. People who care about sustainable business, beautiful cities, good jobs, and putting money behind things they actually want to see exist.

What we’ve pulled off with a very lean crew is, honestly, kind of insane when you unpack it.

I think we’re just getting started.
If this makes you curious, I’d love to sit down with you and show you what Laurie Christofano, Jenn Louisignau and I have been working our asses off to build—and talk about what it could become with the right people behind it.

Telling the rain where to go 💧🌿

This recent Berwyn transformation is a pretty good example of what we mean when we say a garden can be beautiful AND work harder for your property.

Just a few feet away are the home’s downspout extensions, which means a good Chicagoland downpour can send a whole lot of water toward this parkway.

So instead of treating drainage as an afterthought, we made it part of the design.

We created a custom stone dry channel to help direct that rainwater through the landscape, then surrounded it with a layered, native planting designed to grow in, knit together and become dramatically fuller over the next couple seasons.

What you’re seeing here is year one.

Give these babies a year or two and this is going to be a completely different garden. 😍

Less thirsty turf. More plants. Better use of rainwater. More habitat. And a parkway that actually contributes something to the property. 🦋

Have an awkward, soggy, scorched or otherwise useless patch of lawn? Those are some of our favorite places to start. 🌱

What if the most overlooked part of your yard became your favorite? 🌿

This little strip of grass works harder than almost anywhere else in your landscape… and usually looks the worst because of it.

We believe it deserves just as much intention as the rest of your garden.

Beautiful.
Lower maintenance.
Alive with seasonal color.
Built with native plants.

One small transformation.
A completely different first impression.

🌿 The smallest project. The biggest difference 🦋

That strip of grass between your sidewalk and the street?

It’s often the hardest part of your landscape to keep looking good.

Too hot.
Too dry.
Too much foot traffic.
Too much salt.

So instead of fighting it…

We transform it into a beautiful, professionally designed garden.

The result?

✔ More curb appeal
✔ Less mowing
✔ More seasonal color
✔ A welcoming entrance to your home
✔ Habitat for butterflies and pollinators

Our Spoke Parkway Transformations start at $2,500 for up to 100 square feet.

A typical 200-square-foot parkway is $3,500 installed.

Every project includes:

• Complete turf removal + disposal
• Site preparation
• Beautiful (mostly) native plants in signature Spoke planting palette 🌸
• Professional installation
• Hardwood mulch

Because the first impression of your home shouldn’t be the hardest part of your yard to maintain.
