Tuesday update for the current CfA 14x whistle set:

Have all the windways and ramps milled out for all the whistles now. Tomorrow can start drilling away to the envy of every woodpecker in Tennessee!

Monday update for the current CfA 14x whistle set:

Have all the tuning slides bored out and the fipple tube steps cut in on all the whistle heads and bodies now. Can start moving on to milling out the windways and ramps and drilling lots and lots of holes!

Thursday's work on the next 14 whistle CfA set:

Have all the pieces cut out to length now except for the Bass A whistle. Have to change out to larger chucks to handle those honking huge pieces. Will get those done tomorrow and start working on getting all the tuning sleeves bored out, and with any luck start on milling out some windways.

Some new work for the new week.

Meant to post the start of these earlier, but it was a bit of rush job on the smaller order for a tunable pair of PVC Low C and C # whistles needed for... you guessed it, CfA!

Got that set done and shipped out quick and started on the next CfA whistle set, which will have 14 tunable whistles total in a mix of mostly Phantom Pro's with a few PVC whistles. Have 7 of the Phantom pro's all cut out, will be working on getting the remainder next.

Friday update for the 20x CfA whistle set:

Was mainly planning on getting the lawn knocked out today, but the weather was looking mighty menacing until the afternoon so tackled it then. During the morning I cut all the felt strip and sewed together 16 of the 20 cases, will get the remaining 4 tomorrow.

Thursday update for the 20x CfA whistle set:

Have all the whistles themselves completed. The PVC whistles all had their final polishing and key signature labels applied on them. Just need to cut out and sew up the cases now and this order will be done.

And the following Tuesday update for a set of CfA whistle orders:

Had a rush order come in for a smaller CfA whistle set on a more limited budget come in where they needed a low C/E/F and alto G/A whistle at minimum. We settled on single headpieces with multiple different colored bodies which fell within their budget and even allowed for a little bling with a half set of brass ring ferrules for all the pieces.

Also continuing with the 20 whistle CfA set I have all the phantom whistles finished, all the low whistle heads complete, and just the tunable Bass A whistle head to finish up. After that the PVC whistles all get their final buff and polish and get the cases sewn up for them and this order will be complete.

Tuesday update for the current CfA whistle set:

Have all the remaining windways and ramps milled out and all the toneholes drilled out and deburred. Will be getting the fipples all staked down and mouthpiece beaks cut next.

Sunday update for the current CfA whistle set:

Finished boring out the remaining tuning sleeves for the low whistles and have the windways and ramps milled out on the three Phantom Pro whistles and 8 out of 10 of the low whistles. Just have the remaining 2 low whistles and the 2 bass whistles to mill yet, then can move on to drilling lots and lots of holes.

Saturday update for the current CfA whistle set:

Have all the mouthpiece tenons turned down for the low whistles and bass whistles, and half of the tuning slides bored out for the low whistles. It's one of more fiddle parts of the job to get a tight slide joint, but they should all be done tomorrow and the whistles ready for the more interesting and fun part: windway and ramp milling!
