Farmer Mark’s wife is busy getting ready for fall craft shows. She has been selling some of my beautiful carded wool and some of and company’s. Today, wet and snowy, so she spent the day working on scrubbies. She will have her dryer balls and cat toys for sale Nov. 2 at the show in the Washington Square Mall in Detroit Lakes. You should stop and see her and make her happy. She is pretty easy to delight.

How is everyone taking this heat?
So, you are hot, well try wearing aa wool coat. Farmer Mark's wife has been keeping the tanks full of cold water for us. I know she would love to spray us, but being sheep we do not love it so much. The lambs are growing so big. Soon, Farmer Mark and the Mrs. will wean them. It is sad at first, but then they get lots of grain, and we get to eat and not have lambs as big as us nursing all the time. Just like humans, we have to let our children grow up. Well, enough typing for now, it is hard to do much with cloven hooves.

Had a call from a young man yesterday. Well, Farmer Mark's wife did, hard for me to talk on the phone. He wandered if he could get some wool for a texture board or table for the fair. She was so excited. You would think she grew the stuff. It is exciting however. I love that young children (and adults) can feel how nice wool is. So, stop at the East Ottertail County Fair in Perham in mid-July. Happy summer.

The spring started hot, but now it is more like the heat it should be. The rain finally came so the grass is growing up tall. Farmer Mark has been fixing fence. He says it is because he doesn't want coyotes and bears and things to get in that Peter, the llama, can't protect us from. I think it is so he can make the naughty fence jumpers and crawlers stay where they are supposed too. Guess the bear excuse is ok. He put all new fence along farmer Marks wife's garden. She gets a little mad when cows and sheep walk on her vegetables. The lambs are getting so big it is hard to tell them from their moms. Oh, yes, I was supposed to mention the wife got chickens, they are really growing. By late summer there should be fresh eggs again. There are some Barn kitties also. Cute, but they are always about getting stepped on. You can have them if you come get them.

I will try this again. It was supposed to go with the photo of me. That is what happens when Carol teaches a sheep to use Facebook.

Happy spring morning. We are looking over or through the fence at the green grass. We have been watching Farmer Mark checking fence and making repairs. This can only mean we will soon be on pasture, no more hay for awhile. It is always a very exciting day, when the gate opens, the lambs get to run and play in the grass for the first time. It is an important day, because good grass helps our wool grow thick. The spring brings grass, thistles and burrs. They get in our wool and Carol had to clean them out before she can spin or make dryer balls. We just enjoy getting a shave.
