"Military spouses aren’t struggling to build careers — we’re being asked to build them in a system that works against us. We’ve been handed the wrong key and told to keep trying harder: attend this job fair, take advantage of free rĂ©sumĂ© writing, join this “business opportunity” that promises flexibility but looks a whole lot like an MLM, go back to school with a scholarship and maybe see a return years down the line, become a virtual assistant and take on someone else’s overflow.

Sorry, but no."

"In many ways, we are uniquely equipped to create businesses that are resilient, adaptable and deeply intentional because we have already spent years learning how to build our lives in the same way.

The goal is not to wait for the chaos to disappear.

The goal is to stop mistaking instability for incapability."

For military entrepreneurs, the goal is not simply to start a business. The goal is to build one that can withstand the reality of this life.

I recently had the opportunity to sit in on a conversation with Gary SiniseđŸ€Ż (WHAT IS MY LIFE.) ahead of this year’s National Memorial Day Concert. Hearing the heart behind this program made me even more excited to share it with all of you.

For decades, the National Memorial Day Concert has honored America’s fallen heroes through powerful storytelling, remembrance, and music live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

This year’s concert is especially meaningful as it reflects on 250 years of American sacrifice and service. The program will include tributes honoring Gold Star families, Vietnam veterans, Pearl Harbor, 9/11, and generations of Americans who gave their lives in service to this country.

Hosted by Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise, this year’s concert will feature performances and appearances by Noah Wyle, Melissa Leo, Jonathan Banks, Mickey Guyton, Jamey Johnson, Alan Jackson, Andy Grammer, Mary McCormack, Blessing Offor, and more alongside the National Symphony Orchestra.

As a military spouse, I truly believe this is one of those traditions worth sharing with your family.

Remembrance is responsibility.
And it is our duty to honor our fallen.

đŸ‡ș🇾 Tune in Sunday, May 24 at 8/7c on PBS for the National Memorial Day Concert.

And if think someone else would love to know about this opportunity, please share this post with them!

On Armed Forces Day, we reaffirm our unwavering support and eternal gratitude for every Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, Coast Guardsman, Space Guardian, National Guardsman, and members of our Reserve Forces. “Thank you” will never be enough to convey how deeply we appreciate the sacrifices you and your families make to ensure our safety and freedoms.

If you are a Servicemember and you’re reading this right now, from the deepest parts of my heart,
THANK YOUđŸ–€đŸ«¶đŸŒ

Here are a few notable quotes about Armed Forces Day throughout history:

“Our Servicemen and women are serving throughout the world as guardians of peace–many of them away from their homes, their friends and their families. They are visible evidence of our determination to meet any threat to the peace with measured strength and high resolve. They are also evidence of a harsh but inescapable truth–that the survival of freedom requires great cost and commitment, and great personal sacrifice.”
– President John F. Kennedy, 1963

“The men and women in our armed services are our final protection against those who wish us ill. The soldier, the sailor, the airman, and the marine in the United States and around the world are the ultimate guardians of our freedom to say what we think, go where we will, choose who we want for our leaders, and pray as we wish.”
— President Ronald Reagan, 1982 Armed Forces Day radio address

“In difficult times, America has called on members of our Armed Forces to protect the democratic ideals on which our country was founded, and they have never let our country down. As we confront the challenges of this new era, we will continue to rely on our military’s extraordinary skill, sense of honor, devotion to duty, and courageous commitment to service.”
— President George W. Bush 2002, proclamation of Armed Forces Day

This Armed Forces Day, thank a Servicemember for their sacrifices, for ensuring the protection of you and your family, at the expense of their own.

Thank you for holding the line.

God Bless America and God Bless & Protect the members of our Armed Forces!đŸ‡ș🇾

This past year of motherhood has been one of the most difficult and refining seasons of my life.

It’s caused me to become deeply self-reflective. To challenge things I thought I knew. To confront patterns that came naturally but maybe needed to change. It humbled me in ways I wasn’t expecting and brought me to my knees more times than I can count.

There were many moments this year where I privately shattered.

We navigated helping our kids move twice. Physical and mental health trials. We navigated new diagnoses that completely changed the way we parent, the way we communicate, and the way we do life as a family. I’ve had to advocate fiercely for each one of them in very different ways. And while so much of motherhood had always felt instinctive to me before
this was the year I had to learn and relearn, over and over again.

It’s been painful, refining, and sanctifying.

Through every hard moment, every time I cried out to the Lord —He has been faithful to meet me in the messy middle, every single time.

I know He’s heard me because I’m watching answered prayers unfold every dayđŸ–€

This year broke me with a purpose. The kind of breaking that only happens before God puts you back together differently. Softer in some places. Stronger in others. And more dependent on Him than ever before.

Motherhood is beautiful —and so many times that beauty comes wrapped in growth pains nobody sees behind closed doors

This Mother’s Day, I’m celebrating perseverance, growth, and healing.

I’m celebrating how the Lord has carried us.

If this year has also brought you to your knees, maybe you need to hear this:

God sees you there, toođŸ–€

Happy Mother’s DayđŸ’đŸ«¶đŸŒ
