☀️🌡️ Summer fun is great... but don't forget about bloat! 🐕⚠️

As the temperatures rise, it's important to be mindful of your dog's activity and routine. While bloat (GDV) can happen any time of year, hot weather, heavy exercise, and poor timing around meals can increase the risk—especially in large, deep-chested breeds.

Here are a few ways to help reduce the risk:�💧 Encourage steady water intake instead of letting your dog gulp large amounts at once.�🍽️ Avoid strenuous exercise for at least an hour before and after meals.�🐾 Feed measured meals instead of one large meal each day.�😌 Help your dog stay calm around mealtime and avoid encouraging them to eat too quickly.�🌳 During the summer, give your dog plenty of opportunities to rest and cool down after activity.

Knowing the signs can save your dog's life. A swollen abdomen, repeated unsuccessful attempts to vomit, excessive drooling, restlessness, or signs of distress are all emergencies that require immediate veterinary attention.

A few simple management habits can make a big difference. Stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy your summer together! ☀️❤️🐾

Ghost has officially completed our 6-Week Puppy Program, and we couldn't be happier with his progress! 🐶💪 Throughout the program, he mastered his puppy foundations while making huge improvements in his impulse control. From learning the basics to developing better focus and self-control, Ghost has built a strong foundation for the future.
