The S**o River Necklace
Through the centuries, Maine's rivers have been known worldwide for fishing and sporting, industry and energy, paddling and recreation, and more than a few early border and land disputes. The S**o River (pronounced 'sok-ko') is the shining gem of casual summertime riparian activities in Western Maine. Across New England, the S**o is famous for its perfect lazy river floating or paddling trips, as well as camping and fishing.
Depicted in pure silver, the S**o is seen here winding its way out of the foothills into southern Oxford County through acres of open cornfields. Low summer water presents a course of exposed granite cobbles, with a rich blue sapphire as the water flowing south catches the sun.
