We had a super productive day in sewing camp today! We made buntings and trick or treat bags, plus some spooky stuffies (that I forgot to get pictures of!). Next camp is 1/25/27 where we’ll be making aprons and decorating cookies!

School’s out day camps have been updated for the year! This school year doesn’t have as many odd days off, so there are fewer opportunities for the kids to sew. Registration and more info on the website!

New adult class alert! I’ll be teaching a day long class at Waterford Craft School on November 14 where we’ll be making this gorgeous tree skirt. This is one of those projects where it looks complicated, but is actually really easy! Register at the link in profile!

I’m already starting to think about classes for next year….this pj set was one of the lcps adult ed classes. I love it bc it’s a very forgiving pattern, so it’s a great first garment. At the same time, you learn lots of skills that you can use and build on to make more clothes! Is this something you’d take a class in next year? Lmk in the comments!

I’m teaching a tree skirt class this November Waterford Craft School. It’s a fun project that looks more complicated than it is!

A sneak peek at the 2027 Waterford Craft School season! 👀

We’ve put together another year of hands-on classes, with returning favorites, new instructors, and plenty of opportunities to learn a traditional craft or build on your skills.

Be among the first to see the 2027 class lineup at the Craft School Tent during the Waterford Fair, October 2–4. Stop by, take a look, and start planning what you’d like to make next year!

And today I did my first Girl Scout meeting! Not only did the girls learn to make a pillowcase, this was also a service project. The pillowcases will be donated to ryans_case_for_smiles which donates them to hospitals where kids are undergoing treatment.

I haven’t been posting much lately for a few reasons….my fall adult classes have started and we already have a few finishes! These are the bottoms in our unisex pj set. I’ve also been working on new classes, which I think will be really fun—more soon on that!

I’ve definitely been noticing this trend here too! Summer camps got more and more full as the summer progressed and adult fall classes are either sold out, or nearly sold out!

I wasn’t great with taking photos this last week of camp, no not all projects are pictured! It seems like momentum built over the summer and we ended up with our largest group so far in the morning session! The kids made three different types of pencil pouches, bookmarks, composition book covers, drawstring bags and reusable snack bags. Thanks to everyone who came to summer camp this year. It was great having so many new sewists attend and I hope we’ll continue to see them throughout the year!
