Earlier this week, we had an intimate little get-together to officially break the seal on the limited edition Best W**e Key in our signature Orange. We ate, drank orange w**e, and committed to being merry, even after the cops showed up for some reason. Many thanks to all who came out to celebrate — you’re also the Best.

Hunter Craighill looked at his wife and said:

The tools we use every day shouldn't leave us feeling frustrated, confused, or unsatisfied. We reconsidered every angle of the waiter's w**e key to create an object that is more secure, ergonomic, and rewarding.

Our continued fondness for the design and our customer's love of the product have made it a staple in the Craighill collection. It's the object we're most proud of on many levels and so it feels right to finally release it in our classic orange 🟠

We hope you enjoy the Best W**e Key.

Even more important than sharp blades is good pivot hardware. As we’ve discussed in previous videos, scissors don’t just cut like a knife. They make use of shear force - each scissor half pulls the material in a different direction and it shears apart. Even if your blades are sharp, a loose fastener prevents a tight pass of the blades, leading to an unsatisfying slice.

The D-shaped s*x bolt is our favorite way to solve the problem of unthreading without removing the threads. It ensures a tight and clean shear through years and years of use. And if your scissors ever need servicing, it allows them to be taken apart. Please see the pinned-comment on this video for notes on disassembly.

If you’re in the market for any pivoting object, we recommend taking a close look at the fastener to see if they are designing for unintentional unthreading.

Craighill's World Cup.

Johann Jacob Schweppe, a German watchmaker and amateur scientist, was the first person to perfect the production and sale of artificial carbonated water. His company, Schweppes, made it all the way to finals of our Sparkling Water Invitational.

Lionel Messi is the captain of the Argentina national football team. He's widely regarded as one of the best players in history.

Designed nearly a decade ago by designer and Fort Standard founder Gregory Buntain, the Standing Bowl has since become an icon in its own right. Now, we’ve partnered with Fort Standard to bring a limited run of these iconic vessels to a new home: yours.

When Gregory approached us about adopting the Standing Bowl we jumped at the opportunity. It’s an object that we’ve loved since its inception, and we’re proud to be trusted as stewards of this iconic piece as we introduce it to a new audience.

Each cast-aluminum Standing bowl is elevated by a set of planar legs, allowing for surprising depth and an architectural aspect. Short Round and Long Standing Bowls are available in Matte Black and a Craighill-exclusive Polished Aluminum finish, with Long bowls also available in powder coated Matte Black and Craighill-exclusive Glossy Yellow finishes.
