Lots of new people here in the last 24 hours!

Something about the maps behind the Corvina logo. I'm from Texas, born and raised. I grew up some in Austin but did most of my formative years in Brownsville, TX, which is in the Rio Grande Valley, one of the poorest areas in the nation. This is where I got my start.

Back when I was about 20 years old, I didnt have much. I flunked out of community college, I couldnt find a job, and I had zero direction. I did, however, have South Padre Island. One day, I decided to head out to the island and contemplate what my next life move was going to be but I would never make it. Instead, I would end up in a shipyard full of shrimp boats getting a job as a deckhand. I'll get into the actual shrimp boat experience another time, but this experience changed the trajectory of my life in a great way.

That's why South Padre Island is represented in our logo. That southern Texas coast was source of many things for me. For those of us from "down there", South Padre is where we watched our kids grow, it's where we fished, it's where we spent homecoming and prom, or sat around a bonfire. It will always be home for us and it's the home of Corvina Clothing Company.

By the way, that's me in the lower right corner...about 150lbs ago.
