James DeAngelo was a unique individual who grew up in McMurray, Pennsylvania. He was an incredible family member to his mother Jeanne, father Jay, and sister Abrielle. He embodied so many valuable traits, including strength, nobility, loyalty, positivity, respect, courage, and ambition (just to name a few). Unfortunately, his life was tragically taken away too soon when he died of Electronic Shock

Drowning (ESD) on July 4, 2021. James was just 23 years old. The James DeAngelo Foundation has been created to honor his legacy, serve as a support system for his family, and spread awareness for ESD prevention. All proceeds from our annual Golf Outing benefit the foundation. Cumulative Impact:

$10,000 donated to Electric Shock Drowning (ESD) Prevention Association
$21,000 in scholarships for Peters Township (PT) Hockey and St. Louise de Marillac School
$2,000 committed to PT Hockey team’s locker room renovation project
$28,645 donated to fully fund perpetual endowment in James’ name at PennWest California
$2,000 in sponsorships for the PennWest California Hockey team’s golf outing
$500 donated to Mainstay Life Services

Last night, we unveiled the James DeAngelo Foundation banner that is going to be hung at Printscape Arena! Peters Hockey let us present the banner during the Miners Cup game vs Cannon Mac. They were also nice enough to donate all of the admission proceeds to our foundation! Before we know it, it’ll be that time of the year again! We have set the date and location for the 2024 James DeAngelo Golf Outing —> Friday, June 27th, 2025 at Quicksilver Golf Club. Mark your calendars!!!

On May 6th, The James DeAngelo foundation granted scholarships to the PT Hockey Seniors.

For this annual scholarship opportunity, the applicants are asked to write a paper on ESD Awareness. This educates themselves and their peers on the dangers of ESD and how to prevent it.

Eight scholarships were granted amounting to a total of $8,000!
