Spent the last few evenings in the workshop working on this gavel and sounding block. Made of Desert Ironwood. Measures 11.5" in length with a 4.75" square sounding block. Laser engraved logo on top. Shipped out to the customer last night!

I'm so excited to post this gavel as it was presented to Kristin Dycus as the ingoing Grand Guardian of Washington Job's Daughters. The gavel is made of Purpleheart and maple, featuring a triangle in the head of the gavel and striped handle. Definitely one of the more challenging gavels I have made, but also one of the most satisfying to finish. The gavel is about 13 or 14 inches long with a head of about 2.5 inches in diameter (forgot to get the final measurements!) and has a decent amount of weight but feels pleasantly balanced when holding the gavel. Sounding block is made of Purpleheart. I engraved the sounding block as well but forgot the after pictures. Here are pictures of pre-engraving.

Black Walnut gavel and sounding block that I finished this last week. This one is a pretty good size at just over 13 inches long with a head diameter of about 2.75 inches. Sounding block is 4 inches square and approx 2 inches tall. Shipped out to the customer on Friday. The gavel and sounding block will then be delivered to the recipient. I believe it is going to Romania as a gift to a new judge.

Bought my dad a Stanley water bottle for Christmas and told him to let me know what he wants engraved on it and I would do that for him. Well, after Sunday he finally decided. Have a tumbler or water bottle you want engraved, send us a message and we can make it happen!
