made another upcycled quilt coat a few weeks ago and it’s been so cozy to wear a literal blanket around the house this chilly February.

I’ve had this quilt that I found secondhand on for over a year now, and finally cut into it to make this button front coat. it’s boxy and comfy with a split side high-low hem. All of the inner seam are finished with thrifted bias tape, and I’m still trying to decide how I want to do the patch pockets.

I created the pattern using a thrifted chore coat and a roll of Kraft paper I picked up y the thrift store, and the buttons are vintage from

I even sewed her up on my vintage making this piece pretty much entirely upcycled

a couple of fun custom knitting totes (plus a bag charm I made) using my embroidery machine a combination of upcycled & new materials. 🧶

going to be better about taking photos, because there have been lots of fun projects in the works 🪡

Black: black denim from the stash with a lining and inner pocket made from upcycled cotton napkins. the outer features gold machine embroidery and knitting needle pockets all the way around the bag. this was a gift for my brother’s gf!

Teal/Purple: fabric from with an inner pocket plus a removable fabric tab to use as a yarn pull or key leash. The outer fabric features white machine embroidery and knitting needle pockets all the way around the bag.

we’re definitely both big Jane Austen fans, and I’ve been playing around with the embroidery machine my mom gave me last fall. it’s been so fun to save my wrists and hands from working on hand stitching simple text or single color designs.
