We are so excited for this event to be happening in Central City! Old Dirt Road will be opening one hour late today at 10 AM, so that we can attend the Central City Media Day.

Tim is a lifetime Central Citian and spent 45 years employed with the Cityโs Water and Sewer Department and also volunteered for 30 years in multiple roles with the Central City Fire Department, including 17 years as chief. He has also volunteered for Central City High School as a member of the football chain gang and as an announcer for wrestling meets. He has been honored with the Go Big Green Award from Central City Public Schools and the Person of the Year award from the Chamber of Commerce.

Jason is Vice President of the Platte PEER Group and President of the Nebraska Trails Foundation. He has been building trails in Nebraska for nearly 20 years. His family built a home near Central City on the Platte River 13 years ago, and he later joined the Platte PEER Group and helped build the Dark Island Trail.

Schavon is the Director of the Merrick County Historic Museum. She grew up in Archer, just 9 miles northwest of Central City, and graduated from Central City High School in 1997. She began volunteering at the Merrick County Historical Museum in 2019, working under then director Megan Sharp, whom she credits with teaching her everything about museum upkeep and how to properly take care of the museum's collection. Cordsen was later succeeded Megan as the museum director.

Kiki is a proud mom and community supporter who champions youth opportunities like Missoula Children's Theatre and Broadway Academy. While she does not have an official role with either program, she is instrumental in encouraging participation and involvement so that kids may enjoy the confidence, friendships and creativity the come through theater.
Suzanne earned bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from Doane College and taught vocal music for 33 years, 23 of those in Central City. She is a part-time accompanist for middle and high school groups, show choir and musical productions in Central City Public Schools. When the Performing Arts Center was built at CCHS, Suzanne and a small group of peers brought the Merrick Arts Council back to Central City, and she has lead that group since its revival.

As Community Activation Manager for Visit Nebraska, Jenna works to establish relationships and alliances with state and local government agencies and business organizations to educate about the important role destination marketing plays in community vitality and quality of life. She is passionate about collaborating with stakeholders to pursue impactful tourism development projects, a notable one being the designation of Nebraskaโs first International Dark Sky Park.
