The dynamic, hands-on duo of Mike & Sheila Bruegge brought the Ashley HomeStore concept to Champaign, Illinois, in 2006, and the couple hasn't looked back since. Driven to help Central Illinois residents create their dream homes, Mike & Sheila opened a second Peoria location in 2010 and not much later came the Bloomington HomeStore in 2013. A centrally located distribution center also opened in Normal, Illinois, in 2011 to ensure efficient delivery to our customers. Together, these four entities comprise Ashley HomeStores of Central Illinois, which are locally owned and operated by Mike & Sheila’s Bruegge & Co. Mike & Sheila Bruegge carry on a furniture legacy that began in 1872 when Mike's great grandfather left Germany seeking the American dream as a furniture maker. Meet Rich! 👋🏼

Since joining our team back in December of 2024, Rich has very quickly become one of the creative forces of our stores. If something needs merchandised, organized, or completely redesigned, Rich is the guy that can make it happen! Those on his team say his attention to detail is unmatched. 👀

Rich has assisted with two store inventories, helped open our new store, Brugge Living, supported our remodel projects in East Peoria, Bloomington, and Champaign, and he is known to be willing to help across all of our locations.

Outside of work, Rich loves tea, music, and the color maroon. He is a rescue cat dad to two black cats (brothers from the same litter!), and he even volunteers time supporting local community gardens. 🍵 🎵 🐾 🌱

We are so lucky to have Rich on our team!🧡
