Proverbs 8:32-36 NKJV "Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it. Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord; But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death."

What these verses are telling me that wisdom is a gift from God, that God blesses those who seek it, while those who reject it will suffer. The word of God, For the people of God.

Luke 12:51-56 New King James Version
Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

The Cause of Division
Jesus’ teachings and actions will create division because they challenge the status quo and confront people with the choice between following him and maintaining their current relationships and lifestyles. His message of repentance, forgiveness, and love will not always be welcomed, leading to conflict and division within families, communities, and societies.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The Law of Moses was not able to redeem us; it simply served to show us how fallen our state was and how incapable we were of attaining right standing with God, in our own power. When Christ resurrected a new order came in which was the law of the Spirit of Life. We are not led by inscriptions on stone tablets anymore. We are led by the Spirit of the Living God.

Dear God, I pray that I will always take heed to the guiding of Your Spirit. Thank you, Jesus, for doing what no man could ever do – fulfil the law and overpower the sting of sin and death. I thank you, Lord, that I am now righteous because of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
