Alexa Lett - artsy designs Stichy, vintage, handmade goodness! Vintage and handmade has always been a part of my creativity and gift giving. Many forms of art have evolved over the years.

A book entitled “Homemade” was quite successful and led to many creative segments on various HGTV and TLC television shows and teaching workshops over the years. But, motherhood began to take more time and a different creative focus began. A passion for ‘all things stitched’ became the art form of choice for many reasons. Years of supporting an athletic daughter led to hours sitting on a bleacher.

This time became the foundation of learning the art of stitching. The need to be creative had to become mobile for me, so this medium was perfect. Plus, a giddy zeal for vintage fabrics collected over the years provided enough supply to last a lifetime. Now, the nest is empty and my little bird is off in college and I have rented an art studio in a wonderful creative community. Now I am back to ALL things creative. I work in mixed media, jewelry, art, stitchery and anything I can put my hands on. I have been asked to teach classes and participate in shows everywhere. The creative world for me is blossoming….I love it.

Sourcing goodies for the booth is not shopping… it’s research. 😉

One minute I’m “just looking,” and the next I’m loading the car with vintage treasures. The wild moment about sourcing….is realizing the production year on the pile you create…..covers decades.

The booth doesn’t fill itself, people. I have a job to do. 🛒✨

Meet my studio horse. She doesn’t eat hay, she eats straight pins and makes my table look cute!

This vintage handmade pony pincushion was a thoughtful gift from a friend ( Audrey ) and this pony has already earned a permanent spot on my worktable. He reminds me that the best tools aren’t always the newest—they’re the ones that have already lived a good story.

Here’s to old friends, new friends, and handmade things that refuse to retire. 🧵❤️ Do you have any vintage sewing notions?
