I’m willing to try all kinds of things to make my chickens healthy and happy. Angelica is having issues with her legs (her “knees” are starting to go inward and it makes her feet cross each other when she walks-which they are not supposed to do!! It’s causing her pain and limiting her mobility). The PEMF seems to help relieve some pain and if we continue usage, the hope is that it will help with her circulation and maybe help with some physical therapy to strengthen her legs. She seems to enjoy it.

Sweet little Shirley had to have crop surgery to remove the blockage. She’s still loopy here and coming out of anesthesia. Since I know her, I can tell she’s in another world. 😂 But it’s a great sign that she was willing to eat!

Trying to avoid surgery, the vet and tech did a crop “flush” to try and suction out the item causing a block. They were very gentle and did a great job but Shirley didn’t give us the results wanted (to expunge what was stuck in her crop).

Shirley has an impacted crop (chickens have a crop-it’s a little pouch that foods goes through before passing on into their GI system. It’s a tiny opening and sometimes grass, food, etc. gets “stuck” in it). I took her to the vet to have her crop “flushed” in which water and gentle suction are used to try and get rid of the impaction. They were teaching me how to do it so I can do this at home with Shirley. Left untreated, chickens can die from this as it can lead to infections, fungal growth in the crop, starvation and damage to their GI system. After the flush, the chicken is held with their head down so they can vomit out the “stuck” items-very smelly and very disgusting!! Shirley did amazing with being tubed and flushed! She may end up having surgery if I can’t get the crop cleared out this weekend!

There’s a flying snake!!! Wait for it-right at 1:00 you can see it launch itself into the air!!!! I may have to avoid the farm for awhile since there is clearly an infestation of aggressive snakes!!! It left a 3 legged cat as well!!! 😂😂😂😂

Lulu is DElulu about my hair!!! She makes me laugh so much!! She’s like a dog playing tug-o-war when it comes to my ponytail holders!! 😂😂😂 She nearly got the band off my hair!!!
