Jummah Mubarak!

I hope your fasts have been going well! I haven't been able to start yet, and I may not be able to fast again this year as I'm still breastfeeding and have been having issues with supply 🙈. I feel so guilty although Allah provided us mercy by allowing us an exemption, but that feeling is still there, just like it was last year when I was pregnant with gestational diabetes.

It's so sad when cultural expectations make you feel even worse when you're already feeling guilty! Please share some words of encouragement/other forms of ibaadah/dhikr I can do! It would be much appreciated!

May Allah SWT reward our efforts big and small this Ramadan aameen!

Ramadan Mubarak! Whether you are starting tomorrow or the day after:

May Allah SWT heal our pains and worries, may He make us among His beloved, and may He make our Imaan stronger this Ramadan. Aameen!

I am so in need of Allah's love and mercy, Ramadan couldn't have come at a more perfect time. I don't know if you all feel the same.

I want to share a story. Yesterday, I received a very humbling email from a mom who received a kufi. This is the email (or swipe to read):

"Hi I just wanted to say thank you so much for the adorable kufi. My mother special ordered it for him and I wanted to reach out. Is it wrong of us to let him wear it when we aren’t a religious family who is white? We got him this hat because he has adhd and has sensory processing issues and has been twirling his hair to the point that he loses his hair. We have tried every hat but because this one doesn’t have a brim and is cotton and breathable it is literally the only style of hat he will keep on and not notice. I’m worried though that we will be viewed as culturally appropriating for letting him wear it so I wanted to ask what your thoughts were."

SubhanAllah for the ways Allah puts us in people's paths so we can bring peace to their lives.

So this is your reminder to keep shining your bright light and put your trust in Allah SWT. You never know whose life your products are positively impacting without even knowing it!

I have to say the best part of owning a handmade business is seeing my designs and products on your little ones. Thanks to for sending me these beautiful snaps of her sons styling the kufis. They look so cute, mashaAllah!

I think we often forget how important visual cues can be for fostering a love for our Deen. Seeing the kufi and putting it on, then immediately reciting the Quran, or standing to pray will inevitably form a connection in your little guy’s mind. Over time, they’ll learn to associate wearing the kufi with acts of worship. My intention with these kufis is for them to form that connection with Allah SWT and to actually be excited to pray.
