That the day is new.

Most of you who have kept up with me, apologies for the break, life happens. Been in a bad depresh. Many of you who do follow know my 27 year old nephew passed away suddenly a few weeks back. Not only that but my brother committed su***de at age 26 back on Memorial Day Weekend 1991. Then there's some contemporary things going on that have had me down, then this morning I went back and listened to this "You Should be Glad" into a cover of Tom Petty's "You Wreck Me" from the Red Rocks 06/24/2018 Encore and those two together helped remind me how precious life is and to enjoy EVERY LAST BIT of it. No, that's not really the point behind the song "You Wreck Me", it was more the fact we had lost Tom Petty less than a year before this.

Keep your mental health in check. If you need to talk to someone and can't figure out who, holler at me. I'm no licensed therapist, just someone with a good ear, who's both seen and done more than one man probably had needed to, and I don't judge. You be You.

So Ken Kesey, the LEGEND, a legit GOAT. If you have ever watched or listened to a Ken Kesey speech, or had the honor to have seen him ive, then you already know, the guy was all over the place. Ken will be on one topic and BAM something, a word, image, an audience member will send his mind somewhere completely elsewhere, unfortuatly I am incredibly similar.
Enjoy this first 6 minutes fom a speech at the Universith of Virginia on April 26, 1998 I posted more of it back in the day. If enough enjoy it and want to see more, I will be gladly to post it

Foolish Heart is one of the few songs that Vince Welnick really put his own touch on. His playing was so different from the rest of the Grateful Dead keyboard/piano players. This one just fit perfectly to his style imo. Such a good song too! One of the only ones I love on their last album.

Of all the great music that came out of the 5 year anniversary of Trey's Becan Jams, this Slave with a string quintet is one I keep finding myself visiting more often than I would have expected.

More on Jerry Garcia by Dave Schools. Dave talks about Jerry opening up his soul when he played. I love how he puts it, "When he was at his best, he was really leading the band by following the band"

I highly recommend watching, It's on nugs and will probably be making the transistion to the new all Grateful Dead app. I subscribe to nugs but am yet to check out the new app. I will be very soon though.
