About five weeks to Teslacon 10! I will be vending my custom double ended seam rippers there. These are the acrylic resin blanks I currently have to make them. If anyone would like to commission a seam ripper from specific color blank, just contact me, specify which number blank you like, and whether you would like a gold, chrome, or satin chrome finish for the blade handles. A stiletto point can be substituted for either the large or small ripper. Price is $35, plus shipping, or save the shipping charge and pick it up at the vendor room in Madison, Wisconsin at Teslacon 10.

Teslacon is in about five weeks, so it's time to think of Seam Rippers, made by Everyday Steampunk! The double ended seam rippers are made of Japanese steel, and are VERY SHARP. They carry both, a small blade, and a large blade. Either blade can be swapped out for a Stiletto point, another sewing necessity. The bodies are turned acrylic, hand shaped on a lathe by me. There are also one bladed rippers on a necklace, the ripper held by a powerful magnet on the chain. Finishes available are Gold, Chrome, and Satin Chrome. This is my current inventory. You can pre-order any of these by number prior to Teslacon to save on shipping, or commission a new one from the resin blanks in the next post. All are $35 each, plus shipping. Price is same at the con.

In addition to our regular product line at Everyday Steampunk, Paula and I are adding something new, and quite old, to what we will be offering at conventions; Vintage sewing machines, for the cosplayers who want a sewing machine that is strong, capable, and reliable. I have built up a fair inventory of vintage sewing machines, and I have been restoring them. These are all steel sewing machines, that if maintained properly, can last a lifetime. A home sewer or cosplayer will be able to choose from simple straight stitch machines with powerful motors, to more complex machines, to zigzag machines that can do decorative stitching, button holes, etc. I will also have a range of attachments and accessories available, letting you expand your capabilities in sewing. I grew up in the garment industry, working for my parents in their lingerie factory. I've now come full circle. I will be bringing these machines to cons for sale. People are encouraged to pre-order machines they see on my Everyday Steampunk page, Etsy site, or on my regular FB page so as to save on shipping, and allow me to go over the machines with you, and how you want them fitted out. I can even add a hand crank to some machines. Keep your eyes peeled for my posts!

Here is a sewing machine I recently restored. It is a Singer 15-30, made in 1912. It was the work machine for a tailor from when it was new, until he retired, some 40 odd years ago, and had been in storage for another thirty years, so, it was rusty, and barely moved. The motor and wiring, well, those were toast, so after a VERY thorough cleaning, I put on a new-ish motor. You can now see the beautiful Tiffany decals, protected under many decades worth of grime, and the chrome and steel parts shine. And, it sews a nice straight stitch, right off the bat. (Just need to tweak the tension a bit, something done with every sewing machine). Not bad for a machine made over 100 years ago, and, if properly maintained, it will keep on going for decades to come.

This is our prototype dice tower. It is made of 110 year old reclaimed mahogany, with a sterling silver dragon (on this one. I will have other emblems available).

Because we've had a huge interest in our sewing crafts products, I will be expanding our sewing crafts line to include restored vintage sewing machines, attachments, seam rippers, yarn boxes, darning eggs, and more. And for the gamers, dice towers and dice trays, made from exotic woods, silver, with fabric and leather totes to hold your gaming accessories. And, for the Steampunk gamers, dice towers made of wood and clock parts. I will post photos as they come available. We will accept special orders, if you see something you like, or would like custom made.

The International Steampunk Symposium is now just two weeks away. For those who know me, this means my custom hand made seam rippers will be on sale. I have photographed the blanks I currently have in inventory, and will post them now. Any of these could be made into a double ended seam ripper, or a necklace one ended seam ripper. Each is numbered if anyone wants a particular color. The lettered blanks are ones in production. Hope to see you all soon!

Paula and I will be vending at the International Steampunk Symposium on March 29, 30, and 31st. In addition to magic wands, bottle stoppers and themed tote bags, we are going to start bringing vintage sewing machines that I have refurbished. These are lifetime machines that will sew through anything, and if you sew a seam wrong, I also make seam rippers.
