What I’ve learned in John 🌸

💛 John 3:29–36 💛 If you have time to read it, I definitely recommend it!

“He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.” (John 3:30)

This passage really reminded me that, at the end of the day, it’s not about me. It’s about God.

Sometimes I get caught up in my own plans, my own worries, or how I’m being seen by others. But my life is only one small piece of the bigger story God is writing. My purpose is to point people to Him, love others well, and help make disciples.

Something else that has stood out to me while reading John is that Jesus is called the Word. The Word was with God in the beginning, and the Word is God. The more I read, the more I want my life to reflect that truth.

My prayer is that I would become less, so that God would become greater in every part of my life🌸

First time listening to the Podcast Becoming Something🎧

Several good take aways from the random episode I picked. They talked about praying for wisdom and how if you pray for wisdom you should pray for courage to go along with it. What a way to pray to ask for the courage to go through what you’ve been praying for. They also mentioned being “10 toes down” with obedience to hear and respond. I’ll definitely be adding them to my list to listen to💛 There was a book rec for Living Fearless by Jamie Winship…added to my TBR!!

Listening and hearing God over your own voice can be hard. I challenge you to sit with the Lord and just listen. What is the Holy Spirit putting on your heart today?

I finally got to watch these girls on Whoa That’s Good. They are an amazing group of gals to follow! Clean, funny, Christian content what more could you ask for. I absolutely love listening to Sadie’s podcast.

I just watched one of her talks in Sunday class about anxiety. I took lots of notes there too. Something that stuck with me was her talking about how five seconds of awkward could save a life time of regret. I often pause or keep to myself in certain situations because I don’t want those few seconds or minutes of awkwardness but what if the conversation impacts someone? Sadie talks with such grace and a few versus she mentioned was Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 41:10, and Philippians 4:6-8

Let’s talk book recs 📚

These two books are by the lovely couple Preston and Jacky Perry, and I absolutely loved them. I’m an audiobook girly!! I love listening while I get chores done, but these books had me stopping so I could grab my notes app. At one point, I even sat down with my journal while reading Preston’s How to Tell the Truth. His words were very inspiring.

These were such great reads, and I gave them both 5 stars. Of course, the Bible will always be number one, but book recommendations are going to be a big part of this page too.
