background in Marketing and corporate experience in Marketing and Special Events, I was always either working with graphic designers or part of the design process. When I created all of the materials for our wedding, my husband keep urging me to start a side business, but I always knew that this work could never be "just" a side business. When my daughter was turning 2, I was only freelance consultant at the time and after designing all of her party items, my shop was born. Never in a million years did I think my little "side" business would become my very busy and thriving full time business! Being able to stay at home with my kids has been a wonderful experience and challenging at the same time with a shop that's open 24/7. I always seem to manage to find the time to juggle both home life and the 150-200 clients per month that I service. I absolutely love designing and creating items, especially knowing that my pieces are making other people's events even more special. I have a zillion more ideas in my head and not enough time to list them all! i love chatting with my customers, so give me a shout!

Dolly showed us that mastering change means holding onto who you are at the core while letting everything else revolve around you.

Here are 5 things Dolly would do that are great lessons for us to cherish:

1. Lead with kindness first. Treat everyone the same, from a big star to a stranger on the street.
2. Turn hard times into a good story. She grew up poor and never hid it. Use your story to connect, not to complain.
3. Stay true to your own style. Big hair, sparkle, and all. She never tried to fit in. She just doubled down on being herself and you should too.
4. Give back in a real way. Her Imagination Library sent free books to kids every month. Give back where her heart is.
5. Work hard and stay humble. Show up early, stay late, work hard and stay humble.

In a world full of different opinions, Dolly was the one thing everyone could agree on 💞

Back to school isn’t just about them - it’s also about you. It’s a big transition into an entirely new routine AND phase of life that we often don’t pay enough attention to.

We get hung up on bus times, after school activities, making lunches and we gloss over the feelings that come with starting something new. We experience both excitement and fear and maybe a little underlying anxiety wondering and hoping that everything goes well.

Here are 5 things to ease into this transition because it’s not just a circled date on the calendar - it’s a transition for the whole family 💞

Many of us are feeling the very loud voice of a transition. It kind of feels like it’s been a quiet hum, and now it’s a siren. That’s why we’re seeing so many people struggling and asking “what’s next?”

Transitions aren’t easy. They’re uncomfortable and it can be really hard to face that especially if you’ve been living in comfort for a while.

So, what does transition feel like?
➡️Restlessness even when life looks fine on paper
➡️Irritation with things that used to feel normal
➡️Wanting to quit something you used to love
➡️Crying about things that are not really about the thing
➡️Feeling out of place in rooms you used to feel comfortable in
➡️Losing interest in your own routine
➡️Comparing your life to everyone else’s
➡️Feeling behind, even when you are not
➡️Wanting to disappear for a while
➡️Snapping at people who did nothing wrong
➡️Daydreaming about a completely different life
➡️Feeling numb to things that used to excite you
➡️A constant low level “something is off” feeling you cannot name

If you’ve been feeling this, just know it’s normal! Change can feel uncomfortable. You’re in the caterpillar stage waiting to become a butterfly. Like and share if you feel this too.

There have been a lot of posts about people struggling with life lately. I’m on the struggle bus too. I’ve spent years perfecting my healthy coping mechanisms. And for the most part, they work. But they’re not really working right now. Luckily I have some great friends I can lean on who are lifting my spirits. I’m mom of a rising senior and this melancholy has got me bad 😭
