Sadly, earlier this summer we found out the base bean for our best-selling Cascades was going to be fazed out by our provider. Fortunately, we quickly found a new blended bean- Liquid Amber Espresso Blend! Monsoon beans with a small percentage of Robusta add crema and body to the coffee. Beans are a combination of Central American and Indonesian origins. •

We’ve got one bag of ground Cascades (original) left and several K-Cups boxes. Our iced coffees this weekend at Wellborn Market will be original, but we will have samples and bags of New Bean Cascades for sale!

Getting ready for this Saturday by roasting some of your favorites! Today it’s Appalachian (Bourbon infused). We will have our specialty drinks available as iced coffee this weekend- Whiskey Chocolate Milk, Mountain Mornings (with San Juans or Cascades) and Didactic Float. Restocking our sold out coffees- here’s Colorado Rockies. Our first roast, still a popular roast. Of note is a little new labeling on the back. Still have the note about the bean, and some facts about the mountain that symbolizes the coffee (in this case, Long’s Peak), but now we have a QR code for re-ordering. All new bags will feature this thing we probably should have done all along but overlooked, because things happen.

We can get back to fulfilling orders- so if you’ve had your eye on something- grab it!
We already roasting some coffee brand, so if your favorite is out of stock, it won’t be for long. One note- due to our bean supplier dropping a particular bean we used for Cascades and San Juans, there will be a change to these two roasts. The new beans will be similar, but just wanted to give you a heads up!

Yesterday was, without a doubt, the biggest day our little business has ever had. I’ve never really talked about actual dollar amounts, but I want to give you some today. We’ve always talked in averages- we average about 200-250 a show. That’s a respectable day for us. Bigger events like festivals have netted us between 500 and 800. We’ve long had an unspoken goal of a $1000 day. Yesterday, we blew past that and grossed $1510. We are humbled and shocked- having braced for weaker sales due to the fires near Lake City. We are also more committed than ever to producing the most unique and best coffee around. And to the dream of our own coffee shop. So, if you can, support us next at Wellborn Market in Wellborn on August 1st. Or shop online at www.didacticcafedesigns.com. Just give us a week or so- we are still vacationing in Colorado (with all our products). Also, we sold out of a lot of our coffees. Worry not, more is ordered and we will be roasting as soon as we get back.
