om Hobby Lobby in 2004. At the time cost us with tax about $125.00, one of the best investments we made together. I had a old over sized computer desk that I used. At the time we lived in an apartment. I am self taught, read a lot of books and just basically practiced round beads constantly until I got the feel for the flame. Jeff, however, never touched the torch while in the apartment fear of burning the building complex down. After about 6 months he wanted to try it, but not in the apartment. We try to channel all my energy into all types of craft venues. Everything you purchase at Enchanted Pathways is exquisitely handcrafted out of the highest quality materials and carefully finished to last for years. Happy Monday! 🌞🧶
Yay! 😀 I have officially started the second half of my 50 String of Pearls hanging plants—this time in green! 🌿💚

I’ve definitely been putting my hands to work more than usual. Since this is such a large order, I’m making it a priority to keep moving forward, especially with the holidays approaching. 🎄✨

One of the hardest parts has been having to decline new custom orders. As much as I’d love to say “yes,” this 200-piece order has so many tiny details and small parts that it deserves my full attention. I want to make sure every piece is made with the same care and quality. 💚

Once I finish the String of Pearls, I think my next set of 50 will be my Flamingo 🦩 hangers. It’ll give my hands a different movement and hopefully keep them from cramping up quite so much. 🙈😆

In the meantime, I wanted to share these adorable little sprouts! 🌱🥰
And yes... their little arms move too! 🤣 Just like Luffy’s! I couldn’t resist adding a little extra fun.

🇺🇸❤️ Happy 4th of July! ❤️🇺🇸 Weekend!

Today we celebrate America’s 250th birthday! 🎉🇺🇸 What an incredible milestone!

Here are a few fun facts about the 4th of July:
⭐ The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776, marking the birth of the United States.
⭐ The Liberty Bell in Philadelphia is traditionally tapped (not rung) 13 times in honor of the original 13 colonies. 🔔
⭐ The American flag has changed 27 times throughout history as new states joined the Union. 🇺🇸
⭐ Fireworks have been part of Independence Day celebrations since 1777, making them a tradition for nearly 250 years! 🎆

Part 1: Monarch Butterfly Cardigan 🦋✨

A little update on the cardigan! This is another order I’m working on while also tackling my 200-piece order. 🙈🧶

I’ve been alternating my time between projects — about 2 hours on one, then switching over to the other. It helps me keep moving forward without getting stuck on just one thing.

The cardigan does require a little more patience because as it gets bigger, the way I have to hold the project starts making my hand and wrist cramp up more. So I’m taking more breaks with this one.
I also have to really concentrate on my color changes and stitch counts to make sure everything lines up correctly. 🦋

On the right side, I crochet into the back stitches with the second color, and on the wrong side, I work into the front stitches. It’s a fun technique, but definitely makes me pay attention! 😅
I would have been much further along… BUT… I had to frog this thing 10+ times all the way back to the beginning. 🙈🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

The joys of handmade! Sometimes the yarn wins, and sometimes I do. 😂🧶

Also, I haven’t had many scheduled posts lately, so there may be days you don’t see anything pop up on my feed. I need to get better about that!

I’m still over here creating behind the scenes. 🫶🏻✨

Part 3: String of Pearls 🪴✨

Update on my set of 50 String of Pearls! 🌿🧶

I’m still working on the first set of 25 String of Pearls in the Limelight color using yarn 💚

Today I’m showing how I finish off my little baskets. 🧺

For the last round, I make a single crochet in the front loop only, then slip stitch to join. After that, I push my needle to the back, secure the yarn, and hide the tail. ✨

I still have some baskets to finish before I can stuff them and attach the soil bases.
Slowly but surely these little hanging plants are coming together! 🙌🏼🌱

Update: String of Pearls

Update: String of Pearls 🪴✨
Tying the 3 strands together! 🧶
I finally figured out a way to make my String of Pearls process more convenient and quicker for myself. 🙌🏼

For each strand I:
🪴 Make 5 bobbles on one end
🪴 Make 13 single crochets
🪴 Make 7 bobbles on the opposite end

Then I make 3 strands and tie them together to create the hanging plant.
To alternate the strands, I lay them down like this:

✨ First strand: 7 bobbles on one end and 5 on the other
✨ Reverse the next strand
✨ Repeat once more

I line up the section with the 13 single crochets, then thread my yarn needle through the center of all three strands.
I make a surgeon knot first, then a regular knot to secure everything. ✂️

The best part? I don’t cut the yarn! I leave the extra length because I’ll use it to tie everything onto the soil base later. 🌱
Little changes in the process can make such a big difference! 💯🧶
