This is a hard post to write. 🖤

After a lot of thinking—and probably more stubbornness than my hands appreciated—I’ve made the decision that by the end of this year, I’ll no longer be making dreadlock sets.

My hands simply can’t keep up anymore. Making dreads has become increasingly painful and difficult, and I’ve reached the point where I have to listen to what my body has been telling me.

This little business started with dreadlocks, and they’ve been such a huge part of my creative life for so many years. I’ve made countless sets, experimented with colors and textures, sent pieces of my art all over the place, and met some truly wonderful humans because of them. Walking away from making them is incredibly bittersweet.

But Divinely Wicked isn’t going anywhere. 🖤

I’m still a maker. I’m still going to create weird, beautiful, slow-made things and share whatever creative rabbit hole I wander down next. This page will stay alive and evolve right along with me.

And for my existing dread clients: I will still be offering installs and maintenance. I’m not abandoning you or the dread community—I’m just retiring my hands from actually making the hair.

There will still be dreads available between now and the end of the year as I finish out this chapter.

Thank you to every single person who has purchased a set, trusted me with your hair, shared my work, recommended me, or simply followed along over the years.

A few new beauties have officially been added to the website today. ✨

It’s been a slower season around here while I recover and focus on creating when my body allows, but getting back to making things with my hands has been good for my soul.

I also hope you’re enjoying the little website revamp. I’ve been working behind the scenes to make things feel a little more like us while preparing for all the new handmade goodies that will be finding their way onto the site soon. From dreadlocks to one-of-a-kind sewn pieces and other creations that pop into my head at 2 a.m., there’s so much more to come.

I’ve been a little quiet lately, and I wanted to check in.

Life decided I needed yet another surgery, so I’ve spent the last couple of weeks focusing on recovery and giving my body the time it needs to heal. As many of you know, health has been a bit of a rollercoaster for me, and sometimes that means stepping back, even when my mind has a thousand things I want to create.

The good news is that sewing has been one of the few things I’ve been able to do while resting. It’s been a peaceful way to keep my hands busy and my mind occupied, so you’ll start seeing some new handmade wristlets, zipper pouches, and other sewn goodies popping up on the website. They may not be the dreadlock sets and big projects I’m used to making, but creating something beautiful has been good for my soul.

I also want to thank all of you for your patience, support, messages, orders, and kindness. Running a small business while navigating health challenges isn’t always easy, but this community has carried me through more times than you know.

I’m taking things one day at a time, healing, creating when I can, and looking forward to getting back to feeling more like myself again.
