“you guys look like you have so much fun together at work.”

thanks.

we’re best friends.

so that helps.

we laugh.

we create.

we get distracted.

we annoy each other.

we push each other.

and somehow…

we still choose to spend
every day together.

building a business.

making art.

raising a family.

and creating a life
that feels like ours.

we don’t just work together.

we genuinely like
doing life together.

and honestly…

that might be our greatest
business advantage. 🖤

Sometimes
you don’t push through
because you feel strong.

You push through
because your daughter is watching.

Watching how you handle the hard days.
Watching what you do when you’re tired.
Watching you keep going
even when the odds feel stacked against you.

So I’ll rest when I need to.
Cry when I need to.
But I won’t quit.

Because I’m not only building a life for her—

I’m showing her
how to fight for her own. 🐅🐅

Thank you to Dayton Heating & Air Conditioning for choosing Boyd Creative as your print partner! We’re incredibly grateful to work with local businesses that trust us to bring their brand to life through quality, wearable apparel.

We don’t believe in simply printing a logo on a shirt. We take the time to understand each business, carefully prepare the artwork, choose the right apparel and create pieces their team will feel proud to wear. Every order is treated like a partnership because your brand matters to us.

We’re proud to recommend Dayton Heating & Air for your heating, cooling and indoor air-quality needs. Supporting great local businesses is what community is all about—and we’re grateful to have partners like them! 💙🧡🖤🔥❄️

Commissioned art isn’t “just a quick design.”

It’s an artist taking the idea in your head and creating something that has never existed before.

10 things every artist wishes their clients knew:

1. A clear vision helps—but creative freedom is where the magic happens.
2. Reference images can help communicate your vision. Asking us to copy another artist’s work is different.
3. “Simple” doesn’t always mean quick.
4. You’re not only paying for the hours spent on your piece. You’re paying for years of practice, experience, and a style the artist worked hard to develop.
5. Deposits and prepaid bookings protect the artist’s time, reserve your place in their schedule, and allow them to begin creating with confidence.
6. Thoughtful feedback is always welcome. Endless revisions can completely change the original scope of the project.
7. Faster isn’t always better. Great art needs time and room to become great.
8. Colors can look different across screens, paper, skin, fabric, and ink.
9. Timely communication helps everything move smoothly. When messages are left unread or unanswered, it can delay the creative process and affect the artist’s carefully planned schedule.
10. Trust matters. You chose an artist because you connected with their work—give them the freedom to do what they do best.

Artists aren’t asking their clients to be perfect.

We’re asking for clear communication, mutual respect, and trust in the creative process.

Save this before your next commission—and share it with someone who value original art. 🖤

This right here is why we do what we do. ❤️🤍

The smiling faces. The school pride. Seeing everyone together in something we helped create.

We printed hundreds of these metallic shirts for Andrew’s hometown, the Dallas Center-Grimes High School Marching Mustangs, and we absolutely love how they turned out! Seeing the entire band wearing them together at their performance makes it even more special.

Thank you, Danell Duncan, for the amazing design and for sharing this awesome photo with us!

Go, Marching Mustangs! 🐎✨

Everything feels a little cringe—

until someone says,

“You inspired me to start.”

Then suddenly,

posting the work,

sharing the process,

and putting yourself out there

feels worth it.

We will always support artists.

Creators.

And the beautifully wired people
who were never meant
to fit inside the box.

Because monetizing your creativity
can be incredibly taxing
on a human being.

You’re not just selling something.

You’re sharing a piece of yourself.

Again.

And again.

But when artists come together—

there’s a synergy.

A joy.

A reminder that we aren’t doing this alone.

And somehow,
it all becomes worth it.

It may feel cringe to some.

But we know
we were created for this kind of work.

Not the 9-to-5.

Not fitting inside someone else’s box.

Building our own.

Me:
“I’m going to record content today.”

Also me:

Gets distracted.

Forgets we’re filming.

Walks out of the frame.

Realizes the camera stopped recording.

Starts over.

Gets distracted again.

Because the print needs something.

The color needs adjusted.

The artwork needs one more detail.

And suddenly—

making content doesn’t matter anymore.

Because our first job
is being artists.

Having ADHD
and being neurodivergent
makes this work easier
and harder
at the exact same time.

We can hyperfocus on the art.

See the tiniest details.

And completely forget
the camera is even there.

No one warned us
that building a creative business
also meant becoming
full-time content creators.

We’re trying.

But the art will always
get our attention first.
