💜🇺🇸 PURPLE HEART DAY — AUGUST 7 🇺🇸💜

Today is Purple Heart Day, a day that has a very personal meaning in our family.

My husband, Don Griffin is a United States Marine and Vietnam veteran who was awarded three Purple Hearts for wounds received during his service to our country.

Three Purple Hearts.

Those medals represent moments in his life that most of us can only imagine — sacrifice, courage, pain, survival, and a willingness to serve his country regardless of the cost.

Today I honor Don, but I also honor every man and woman who has worn the uniform and bears the scars of war — the ones we can see and the ones we cannot.

The Purple Heart is not an award anyone sets out to earn. It is a distinction purchased at an extraordinary price.

I am incredibly proud of the Marine I married and grateful that, after everything he endured, he made it home. 💜

And to every Purple Heart recipient and every family who remembers a loved one who never came home:

We remember. We honor you. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Mommy is getting a brand-new shoulder, and apparently I’ve been promoted to her full-time recovery nurse.

My treatment plan is very strict:
🐾 Bed rest
🐾 Lots of snuggles
🐾 Frequent Frenchie kisses
🐾 Absolutely no getting out of bed without my supervision

Mommy thinks she’s going to be stuck in bed recovering for weeks.
I think we just booked an extended staycation together. 😂

Don’t worry, Mommy. Dr. Dior has this.
I’ve been training my whole life for a job that requires me to lay in bed all day. 🎀😂🩺

The sweetest post from my wonderful son. He posted this on my Facebook timeline on my birthday. He was absolutely the most adorable child and the most beautiful newborn weighing in it 10 lbs. 4 oz. and 2 feet tall. I’m so happy he’s got his own home on our ranch now and I’m so proud of all he’s accomplished becoming a fireman, obtaining his FRBO Water Rescue, which I’m sure will keep him busy and he’s opening a new bar in McKinney in about a week where he will be the head mixologist and has created some amazing cocktails for their menu. He’s also a very talented musician and can fix almost anything. He also has a new love in his life and she’s just lovely loves farm life loves animals and she loves to cook so I can’t wait to give her some of my pasture, raised beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and eggs, and let her try out what I’ve been working so hard for the last six years doing
I cannot be happier for his personal life, his musical career, his production in both music and social media content, and that he’s here trained and present to assist caring for my husband and I during the last three years, which has been very difficult healthwise

🩸 “Natural” doesn’t always mean “safe.”

One of the biggest surprises during my own medical journey with von Willebrand disease was learning that some herbs and supplements can affect bleeding.

My orthopedic surgeon suggested turmeric for inflammation. My hematologist immediately said, “No, not for you.”

Found my backstage guest passes and a few blurry concert photos. We’d already been friends with the band since 2001, so we were always lucky enough to attend as guests.

Looking back now, it’s amazing to think this was before we ever worked together on merchandise. Life has a funny way of turning friendships into incredible opportunities.

Grateful for the memories and the people who have been part of this journey.
