I'M BACK

After the longest summer in my entire life, I'm back to taking in sewing and alterations. I'm moved into to my new home (apartment), not totally done with getting rid of things (meaning I still have stuff in a friend's garage), but ready to get back to some sense of sanity.

I'm at 315 17th Street, Apt 5, Decatur, IN. My phone number is the same 260-223-5588 so I'm ready to take calls and appointments for your sewing needs. And my friends that referred so faithfully can begin referring me again.

With a heavy heart, I write this post. I am grateful to my loyal customers, but I must stop taking in any sewing for 2-3 months. I'm downsizing and moving to an apartment, which requires packing and deciding what to keep. I'll reevaluate my situation in the fall and determine if and how much sewing I can resume. Please don't recommend me for any sewing projects until then. I'll keep you updated on my progress. If anyone has spare packing boxes, let me know. Thank you.

I wish to thank my friends and loyal clients. On September 12 my husband of 39 years passed away after a short illness. I worked frantically to complete some jobs I had to do before the end of September and with some help from a couple friends I got everything done that needed to be done. After we had my husband's Celebration of life on October 1, I went to UP of Michigan with my sister and brother-in-law for a couple weeks and during all this time, my clients were very understanding and flexible in working with me.
Thank you for allowing me to take some time for myself. Next week I will be back to sewing and will be continuing my sewing and alteration business for as long as I can do it. I look forward to working with current clients and new ones too. Again, thank you for understanding.

Hello friends on FB this beautiful Saturday morning in Indiana.

I have a question and I'm hoping someone can help. As many of you know I have been sewing and doing alterations for many years. Following my mother's lead, I have been saving my scrap fabric thinking I would use it sometime. But. . .

The time has come for me to begin sorting things and getting rid of some "stuff". Before I throw the tons of fabric scraps I have away, I wondered if there was anyone out there that could use them for anything? My "stash" includes all types of fabric and all size pieces.

It will be about a week before I'll discard them in the trash so if you know anyone who would use them, let me know. You can IM me or respond to this post

Hello FB friends. It's hard to believe we are in the second half of January already. Don't know about you, but I'm glad 2022 is behind us. I had a very busy year, especially the last half of it and this one seems to be starting out busy too. Only problem with that - there are things I need to do here, that aren't getting done. So my plan is to get everything done I have in here now and then I plan to take a month off. So I will be diligently working the next couple weeks and then will be taking February off.

Part of my plan for February is to get my sewing area and supplies organized. By doing this, I hope to be more efficient and get all my sewing jobs done and out more quickly.

If you have an emergency in February, give me a call. However if not, I plan to be back at it again in March and look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you to everyone I do sewing for and for referring me to your friends and family. I really appreciate it.

Wow! It is hard to believe we are going into the last full week of February. Time just keeps moving on.
My January was fairly steady, but not overwhelming. Today I got in my first prom dress for this spring and realized how soon that big day will get here. So if anyone is thinking about the prom, now would be a good time to start looking and if anyone needs alterations done, keep me on mind.
