**Deep Breath**

It is with great sadness and immense gratitude that I share this memorial post for our beloved Squash. ♥️

I rescued him from Fulton County Animal Shelter in 2016. He had been living on the streets, severely injured by another animal, with an embedded collar from his previous owner, heartworm disease, fleas, worms, and basically every issue a little puppy could face. He desperately needed a home, and he found one with my family, and with the extended family of customers like you at Squash Blossom.

We gave him the love and care he so desperately needed, and in return, he gave us so much more.

Squash touched hearts wherever he went. His sweet face, his adorable three-legged gait, and his loving spirit, despite the trauma of his early years, made him a beloved member of our community. So many of you would stop by the store just to see him, spending time on our couch giving him pets and soaking up a little Squash love.

His departure has left a huge hole in my heart, but I am forever grateful that we were able to give him TEN amazing years. And in return, he gave me a lifetime of precious memories.

Rest in peace, sweet puppy. You were so very loved. ♥️

Please stop by this Saturday from 11–6 during the Decatur Festival to help us celebrate Squash’s life. 🐾

We’re inviting everyone who loved him to participate in a community art project in his honor. Together, we’ll create a special memorial that will hang in the store, so a little piece of Squash will always be here with us.

Twenty boxes. Countless hearts behind them. 💛

This week, our team gathered around a table filled with creativity, compassion, and purpose to create Resilience Boxes for women beginning new chapters after surviving domestic violence.

Each box was lovingly decorated with messages and images of hope, beauty, courage, and strength. Inside, you’ll find thoughtful treasures including jewelry, sage wands, tea, keychains, journals, books on inner peace, and other small reminders that healing is possible and brighter days are ahead.

These boxes will be delivered to the Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence, where they will be shared throughout the year with women rebuilding their lives and rediscovering their strength.

A huge thank you to the businesses who donated items and helped make these boxes so special. Your generosity reaches far beyond the gifts themselves. It reminds women that their community sees them, believes in them, and is cheering them on.







To our Squash Blossom team: thank you for showing up with your hearts and your hands. Every design glued, note written, and box packed was an act of love. Special thanks to our friend for donating her time and creativity on this project with us!
