π Business Update from Anam Threads R&M Co. π
Three months. That's how long I've been running my little business, and I've already learned quite a few lessons along the way.
I think one of those lessons has been realizing that sometimes I put a little too much faith in people. I've always been someone who likes to believe that when someone makes a commitment, they'll follow through. So when I started this business, requiring deposits wasn't even something that crossed my mind. I genuinely trusted that when someone placed an order, payment and pickup would naturally follow. Unfortunately, I've learned that things don't always work out that way.
In just these three short months, there have been several occasions where I've purchased shirts, transfers, and supplies out of my own pocket, completed orders, and then found myself having to reach out multiple times regarding payment or pickup. I completely understand that life gets busy, plans change, and unexpected things happen. I'm more than willing to work with people because I know life isn't always predictable. But communication goes a long way. A simple message letting me know what's going on makes all the difference. At the end of the day, it's simply not fair for me to invest my own money and time into someone's order and then have to repeatedly follow up just to receive payment or arrange pickup.
As a small business, every dollar matters, especially with the cost of everything these days and navigating life as a newly single mom of two. Every order is an investment out of my own pocket, made with trust that people will follow through. Having finished orders sitting around while I'm waiting to be paid isn't something I can continue to afford. I'm putting my heart into building something for myself and my children, and I want to see it continue to grow. π
With that being said, effective immediately, I'll be making a few changes to how orders are handled.
π 50% Deposit: A deposit of 50% of the total order will be required when an order is placed. This allows me to purchase the necessary materials without having to cover the entire cost upfront.
π Remaining Balance: The remaining balance will be due once your order is completed. Orders must be paid in full before pickup or shipping.
π Order Pickup: Once you're notified that your order is ready, I ask that it be picked up within 7 days. If you need additional time, just communicate with me so we can work something out!
π Shipping: Shipping is available at the buyer's expense.
These aren't changes I ever really wanted to make, but I'm learning that sometimes running a small business means making adjustments along the way.
I genuinely love making shirts and creating things for people. Every single order means something to me, whether it's one shirt or twenty. But behind every order is also my time, my money, and a lot of effort, and I have to make sure I'm protecting the little business I'm working so hard to grow.
To everyone who has ordered, supported me, shared my posts, recommended me, or simply encouraged me, THANK YOU. I truly wouldn't be where I am in these first three months without you.
I'm still learning, still growing, and still figuring things out as I go. I appreciate everyone who continues to grow with me. π
