You would think my kids would have quite the collection of crochet goodies made by me… but honestly, they don’t. 🤷🏼‍♀️😬

About 10 years ago, my second oldest asked me to crochet her a mermaid. I had no idea then just how special that little mermaid would become.

There were nights she would wake up crying because her mermaid had fallen off the bed. She went on countless vacations with us, spent the night at friends’ houses, and was there through so many little moments of her childhood.

Fast forward 10 years… and today, that same little mermaid made it into her high school senior pictures. 🥹🧜‍♀️💕

Something I made for my little girl all those years ago is still special enough to be part of such a big moment in her life.

I think that’s my favorite thing about handmade things. They aren’t just things you make… they become part of someone’s story. ❤️
