Gabby’s prom dress screamed Hollywood glam for sure.
She needed her straps shortened, darts put in the V of the bodice to bring in the gap.
Her hem in the front was shortened about 3 inches with the horse hair removed, then added back on. We needed a bustle added so she could dance the night away without everyone stepping on her train.

Katie was going to prom and she was just swimming in her gorgeous gown. I cut off about 5 inches of the outer tulle, hemmed the lining and middle sparkly layer. Shortened the shoulders straps, and took the sides in about 4 inches total. The difference was amazing. With her strawberry blonde hair this soft sage green was a perfect match.

This is Brandi and she got her wedding gown at Davids Bridal. They did a real number on this gal and not in a good way! She ordered the gown of her dreams and it was delivered in pink. She didn’t want pink and the manager told her it only comes in pink, didn’t your sales rep tell you that? The cathedral veil was quoted to her at $400, when she hit the the register it showed up as $800. Terrible customer service. She had to return the pink gown and order the gown in white however, they only gave her a partial return for store credit. She ordered the gown again and when it arrived it had no sleeves, so the sales rep told her you had to specifically order sleeves. She was pretty discouraged at this point with the wedding only a few weeks away. She was referred to me for alterations so I got to work right away. Made her new sleeves, took up the shoulders, took in the bust area, bustled the train.
She sent me pictures and looked so happy! This is why I do what I do!

Marie had the best story! She was shopping with her friend to help her pick out her wedding gown, and found her own designer dream gown on the clearance rack. It was a $1400 dress they marked down to $300 if she bought it now. She bought it because she loved it and did not even have a fiancé in the picture. Well her boyfriend did propose about 3 months later and now we have a rushed, full scale wedding, at Christmas, while all the family was in town. All of her friends rallied around her to make it magical from the church, the cake, the reception. I only had 3 weeks to alter her gown that was a tad bit too tight. I took off the lace appliqués on the sides, gave her the extra room she needed, found some lace that was similar to fill in where I had let the sides out. It was all hand sewing as there wasn’t room to get it under my needle. I made her new straps, hemmed the front and gave her a 3 point bustle. The first picture is from her wedding. She was stunning!

It’s been a while since I posted anything so I thought I’d post a few things I’ve been working on. I got a call from a gal who is the mom of her 16 year old daughter. She ordered their dresses from a seamstress in Mexico for her daughters quinceañera. The daughters gown looked great, the embroidery was impeccable however the moms did not fit right, the corseted bodice needed some help, the skirt was not evenly gathered. I tore the dress apart and rebuilt it for her. I did not do anything to the 16 year old daughters dress.See the picture for the final result.

Last year I had the pleasure of working with Sarah Pearman and her adorable flower girl Aubree for Sarah’s Fall wedding. Unfortunately, they had to postpone the ceremony due to Covid and opted for a small private ceremony last year. This year they had the blowout wedding ceremony! Sarah’s dress just needed the sleeves tightened, the lace at the shoulders tightened, added the green waistband, and a teeny tiny little bustle. Added the green with the bling waistband to Aubree’s dress so she could look like a little princess. Loved looking at the pictures a year later. Thank you Sarah for letting me have a small part of your special day❤️
