Healing NOT Hurting

People see the graduation. I see the bloodline. My grandmother was born in 1922. She lived through segregation, limited opportunities, and a world that wasn’t built for Black women to dream as freely as we can today.

Then there’s me…In 2026, graduating from the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women: Black in Business program after spending six years building a business that started with nothing but a vision, faith, and the decision to do something different.

That’s what changing a bloodline looks like. It’s not just about making more money. It’s about expanding what’s possible.

Every room I enter changes the rooms my children will believe they belong in. Every lesson I learn becomes knowledge I don’t have to let die with me.

Every relationship I build becomes a bridge they may one day walk across. This wasn’t just a graduation. This is evidence that one person’s decision to heal, grow, and keep going can shift an entire family.

My grandmother probably couldn’t have imagined this moment. My children won’t have to. They’ll grow up believing rooms like this are normal because they’ll know someone who sat in them.

My prayer is that they don’t stop where I did. I pray they go farther. That’s the goal of being a bloodline changer.

Not for your children to repeat your story…but for them to begin where yours left off. That’s how generational curses are broken. That’s how generational wealth, wisdom, confidence, and opportunity are built.

I am my ancestors wildest dreams!

A lot of us have mastered surviving while silently struggling mentally and emotionally.

This month isn’t just about awareness for us. It’s about application as well. Healing is deeper than motivational quotes, pretending to be okay, or pushing through exhaustion.

Sometimes protecting your mental health looks like boundaries…Sometimes it looks like rest…Sometimes it looks like grieving, unlearning, speaking up, or finally choosing yourself.

Real healing changes how you live, love, communicate, and carry yourself. ❤️

Not everybody will understand why you had to distance yourself. Why you started setting boundaries. Why you stopped shrinking yourself to keep everybody comfortable.

Healing changes you…And sometimes the people attached to the old version of you will struggle with that…But keep healing anyway. ❤️‍🩹

Mother’s Day can bring up so many emotions when you’re the one breaking cycles, healing wounds nobody talks about, and still trying to show up with love.

So today, this is your reminder:
You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are healing in real time while raising, loving, providing, surviving, and becoming.

At Healing Not Hurting, we honor the mothers who chose growth over repeating what hurt them. The mothers learning softness after survival mode. The women doing the deep work nobody claps for. ❤️

Some daughters grew up loved. Some daughters grew up learning how to survive the very relationship that was supposed to feel safe.

The truth is… mother wounds don’t just disappear because we get older. They show up in our relationships, our boundaries, our self worth, our anxiety, our people pleasing, and the way we love ourselves.

Blossoming Beyond Brokenness was created for the daughters doing the hard work of healing from what hurt them while still trying to become healthy women.

For the women grieving conversations they never got. The nurturing they never received. The softness they deserved.
The apology that never came. You deserve healing too.

Some women don’t realize how deeply a broken mother daughter relationship followed them into adulthood.

It can show up in the way you love…The way you communicate…The way you over explain…The way you fear rejection..:The way you struggle to trust people…the way you carry everything alone…The way you feel guilty for choosing yourself.

A lot of women became survival versions of themselves long before they ever became healed versions of themselves. Healing is finally asking yourself..”What happened to me… and how do I stop carrying it into every area of my life?”
