I have been harboring a secret (well, not really). Lately, I haven’t been crocheting as much because I’ve been immersed in writing my first full-length novel.

My writing journey began at the age of 4 (yes, really that young). At 6, I achieved my first publication when a poem I wrote was submitted by my teacher. Since then, I’ve contributed to literary journals and anthologies with my short stories and personal essays. I even have a first draft for a memoir about the death of my son, although I haven’t been ready to edit it for a while.

This year, I’ve made a conscious decision to fully dedicate myself to my writing. I’m thrilled with the progress I’ve made toward this goal. But I admit I do miss creating little yarn critters for everyone. I’m hopeful I’ll find a balance soon enough.
