THE HOPE DIAMOND: Is LOGAN Building a Brand… or Borrowing One?
Bill Spencer seems convinced that securing the Hope Diamond will somehow give LOGAN an advantage over Forrester Creations. But here’s the question many fans are asking: How exactly does that hurt FC when FC has already owned, displayed, and leveraged the diamond before?
The Hope Diamond isn’t some untapped fashion treasure that Forrester has never touched. They’ve already used it as part of their legacy. So why would FC suddenly be threatened because LOGAN is now interested in it? Simply having Electra talk about the diamond doesn’t automatically make it a game-changing asset.
Then there’s Deke. Instead of introducing a fresh face with a unique vision, LOGAN appears to be relying on talent that already has deep ties to Forrester. Many fans remember that Katie could have hired Deke during their encounter at Il Giardino. Instead, she went to Eric and appealed to his emotions regarding Ridge and Brooke, ultimately gaining access to someone with strong Forrester connections.
This brings up a larger question about LOGAN as a company. Forrester Creations has its identity. Spectra built its identity. Jackie M had its own signature style and vision. Whether fans loved them or hated them, those brands stood on their own.
But what exactly is LOGAN’s identity?
If the Hope Diamond has already been associated with Forrester, and key personnel have ties to Forrester, and business relationships come through Forrester connections, some viewers feel like LOGAN is simply repackaging elements of FC rather than creating something entirely new.
At some point, shouldn’t a successful fashion house establish its own signature designs, its own iconic campaigns, and its own unique symbols instead of relying on existing Forrester history?
Is the Hope Diamond a brilliant power move or just recycled Forrester history?
