CRAVE by Carli Rae Vergamini Clothing repairer 🧵
Obsessed with upcycling ♻️
I'd rather be thrifting ✌️

I've been making & selling stuff since I could hold a crayon & mix a pitcher of Kool-aid. My name is Carli, I'm the creative force behind CRAVE & an advocate for following your dreams. I've always wanted to make it big in the fashion world, & studying apparel design opened my eyes to what that entailed. When graduation day came, I ran as far away from a corporate cubicle as I could & created my ow

n business on my own terms. Using skills & techniques acquired from around the world, resourceful materials, & a whole lotta love, I’m making kick ass accessories with an even cooler back story.

One of the great things about being an adult is having the discretionary income to buy the artist version, the original thing or if you’re really lucky- both!

Which color did you have (or want)?

I’ve just released a small collection of small art each with a story to tell, each inspired by memories of summer and each made from the materials that help build our summer memories.

Over the years I’ve collected popped kiddie pools, water balloon straws and even a bounce house in hopes of giving them new life. This is a slow process as I am one human and there is a crap ton of trash.

My hope is that sharing the journey may encourage an awareness that sparks a small change. I hope I can help you see the beauty in the discarded if we view it a little differently. And I hope they make their way to your walls to enjoy.

Something about this sprinkle jar. Something about rolling down the baking aisle as a kid in a shopping cart and being mesmerized by tiny colorful lines in a small plastic bottle. The excitement when Mom let me put one into the cart.

Something about getting to experience all of that again- the aisle, the cart, but now as the mom. And something about uncovering and solidifying all of those memories by making a jar of sprinkles out of water balloon straws and a popped pool floaty and sharing it with others who hold something similar.

Dropping a small collection of small art made with the most summery materials next week. I hope you’ll stick around to see it.

Bring me your ripped clothes, your missing buttons, your holey sweaters. I will sew patches and repair as best I can and I hope you find a good book to read while you wait.

Thank you Resource Renew & Duluth Public Library for this amazing collab!

Summer is magical and I’m trying to capture all the joy in little collages made from popped pool floaties (the most summery material in my humble opinion).

Dropping some new art later this month and sharing some sneak peeks on Patreon.

Turned this freebie bag into a trinket tote! We are gunna need more pockets 😆

This was a delightfully quick project with so many rewards. One being grocery store entertainment for my kid.

PS the plastic was a popped pool floaty 🙌 and I will be making more of these as long as the hyper fixation lasts 😅

It’s been 3 years since that fateful first day I rolled my sewing machine into public offering to sew on patches.

No one came. But I still had a feeling I was onto something. So I teamed up with Ren Market and committed to showing up once a month to repair your wares.

And here we are 3 years later- hearing your stories behind the clothes, taking home to do piles each time, and usually crying grateful tears on the way there because this gets to be my job.

I’m on a mission to change the way we think about what we throw away. And I love that together we get to save large piles of textiles from getting tossed every month while letting the memories they hold live on.

Here’s where you can find me and my sewing machine this summer. Bring me your ripped clothes!
