Jessie & Kids' Boutique & Thrift

Jessie & Kids' Boutique & Thrift We are a Non-Profit 501c3 organization that helps fill bags for foster kids when they come into care. They came with a few things thrown in a garbage bag.

Our mission: Providing hope and light to His children in
what seems to be their darkest days. Our Why: 10 years ago, I became a relative placement for my cousin and his two siblings. Fast forward to 2019 my children decided they wanted to make sure children entering foster care had something to call their own. Instead of starting the foster care journey with garbage bags to transport their belong

ings; they have chosen items to fill the duffle bags and Luggage bags. That will help make the children's journey a little less dark. We are blessed to say we now have our store, where children can come pick out a weeks' worth of clothing and necessities they need. With the donations and support from our community we are able to help children in Iosco and Alcona counties. We accept new and used clothing, toys, stuffed animals, diapers, wipes, bottles, sippy cups, formula, books, coloring books and crayons, craft items, lock boxes, personal hygiene items, night lights, dream catchers, duffle bags, travel bags, baby furniture, bedding and much more.

💙 **Community Update: Help Us Keep Our Mission Thriving!** 💙

To our wonderful community, friends, family, and lifelong supporters,

Since the beginning of 2026 alone, we have spent **$8,965 out of pocket** to purchase items directly for foster children and families when we didn't have what they needed in stock. Supporting these kids is our passion and purpose, but as we approach the slow season and colder winter months, we need our community's help to **keep our mission thriving** and our space open for those who need us!

To give you a transparent look at what it takes to keep our space running, here is a breakdown of our essential monthly operational costs:

* **Rent:** $2,000 / month
* **Consumers Energy:** ~$350 / month (higher in winter)
* **DTE Energy:** ~$350 / month (higher in winter)
* **Insurance:** $120 / month
* **Water:** $100 / month
* **Garbage:** $68 / month
* **Total Monthly Bills:** **~$2,888 / month**

**How You Can Help Keep Our Mission Thriving**

We want to ensure we never have to turn away a child in need. Here are three powerful ways you can stand with us right now:

1. **Stop In & Shop:** Every single purchase in our store directly helps us cover operational costs and buy essential supplies for foster youth. We bring in **new items weekly**, so there is always something new to check out!
2. **Drop Off Donations:** Bringing in needed goods keeps our inventory stocked so we don't have to spend out of pocket to meet urgent requests.
3. **Become an Official Sponsor:** You can now sign up for recurring sponsorship on a **monthly, quarterly, or annual** basis at whatever amount works best for you! As a sponsor, you’ll receive quarterly update letters sharing:
* Real impacts on how many foster children and families were supported.
* Exclusive updates on upcoming community events and fundraisers.

Every dollar spent, every donation dropped off, and every store visit directly supports local foster youth and keeps our mission going strong through the winter months. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing by us and the kids we serve! 💙
