🎨 Welcome Artist-in-Residence Filomena Jack Studio to Downtown Ticonderoga!
We’re excited to welcome Filomena Jack to Ticonderoga this week for her first visit as our 2026 Artist-in-Residence.
Filomena is a multidisciplinary artist whose work blends imagination, community, and storytelling. Based in Elmira, she has created murals, illustrations, and fine art exhibits across New York and Pennsylvania. Her style — colorful, playful, and deeply human — invites people to see everyday spaces in new and uplifting ways. In addition to her studio work, Filomena teaches art classes, serves on the Elmira Public Art Commission, and operates The Elmira Atelier (T.E.A.), a sustainable studio dedicated to upcycled fashion and zero-waste design.
Throughout 2026, she’ll collaborate with downtown businesses to design four seasonal window art installations, transforming storefronts into rotating public galleries.
Beautification and public art projects like this do more than make our community beautiful — they make it thrive. Studies from Americans for the Arts and Main Street America show that investment in local art can increase downtown foot traffic by 20–30%, boost small business sales by up to 15%, and foster stronger community engagement and local pride.
