The "Our Community - Water" public art installation is a high-impact, transformational project of creativity, connection and community on The Historic Elmira Promenade, below a raised railroad track (1934) in Elmira, New York, that extends from W. Water Street to W. Second Street. The first section of public art storytelling is underway with original images created and painted by amazing area artists whose renderings celebrate the remarkable nearby Chemung River wildlife. In the next two years, the remaining three sections will follow, with the themes of Land (two sections) and Air. New to "Elmira Infinite Canvas" Mural Fest this year was the interactive "Community Stenciling" feature where pre-registered community members could paint stencils of fish, water weeds and rocks alongside professional muralists painting their own work, elevating the collaborative, inclusive nature of the installation that is scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2026.
