Students benefit from free back-to-school haircuts

K-MACS Lavish Looks and the Watts Foundation along with other donors teamed up to offer their community another year of free back-to-school haircuts on Monday, August 17.

There were several barbers and stylists on hand to offer both girls’ and boys’ simple cuts.

This was their 3rd year, and this year, they were pleased to offer hygiene bags along with the free haircuts.

One customer told the crew how much this helps her as she prepares to send her four grandchildren back to school on Thursday, Aug. 20.

K-MACS Lavish Looks stated that they are proud to help their community in any way and were honored to offer the services and more.

This event was made possible by several gracious donors to include: JC Watts Foundation, Donna Mock, Lake n Bake, Karen Weldin, Nichols Grocery (for donating the hot dogs), Too-Sha (for cooking), Mama Tig’s (for feeding the workers pizza) and of course K-MACS Lavish Looks (for hosting the event and their caring staff for donating their time).

I came home last night after the back to school haircut event and immediately thought we need to take more pictures. But every moment isn't about advertising. Of course we are a business but this was 100% about giving back to our wonderful customers and community. Made possible by our wonderful donors and my special caring staff. This is some of the stylists/barbers third and fourth event and they do it with a true heart of giving. One customer (a grandmother) said "I appreciate this so much" I say you are welcome its not much She said "Imagine having to fund 4 kids haircuts and school supplies on a limited social security budget. This event and others like it are everything to many of us."
So no pictures can capture the love and confidence in that place. So just a big thanks to the donors and amazing staff at K-Mac's Lavish Looks you guys are awesome. We served over 70 familes with personal care bags, haircuts, wax services, and a whole lot of confidence..😅😄Thanks for partnering with us Jc Watts Foundation, Shawn Paul Burcham, Lake and Bake, Donna Mock, Karen Weldin, Sulphur Spring church, Pecan Heaven. Ashlea Bumgarner Nichols Pam Evans for the hot dogs, Too-Sha Chicken & Fish House, McAlester Pepsi for drinks and Mama Tigis Erin Bridges for feeding the workers. So kudos not only to KMAC's, but blessings to all churches, schools and businesses out here making life easier for these kids to go back to school.
