What if we’ve been asking the wrong question?

Instead of asking,

“Do our personalities match?”

Maybe we should be asking:

“Do our values align?”

Personality is how someone expresses themselves.

Character is who they are.

Values determine the direction they’re headed.

Two people can have opposite personalities and build an incredible relationship if their character is trustworthy and their values align.

But two people with identical personalities can still fall apart if they don’t share the same foundation.

Maybe compatibility isn’t about finding someone just like you.

Maybe it’s about finding someone whose character you can trust, whose values you can build with, and whose personality complements yours instead of competing with it.

Most people say,

“I know a God who will.”

And I do.

But before I know what God will do…

I must first know who He is.

When Moses asked God His name, God said,

“I AM THAT I AM.” (Exodus 3:14)

Before God revealed what He would do…

He revealed who He is.

Hebrews says that anyone who comes to God must first believe that He is. (Hebrews 11:6)

But how does a man come to God?

Through Jesus Christ.

Jesus said,

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

So my faith doesn’t begin with what I’m asking God to do.

It begins with knowing who He is…

and coming to the Father through His Son.

I know a God who is.

Because He is…

I know a God who will.

Not because I control His will,

but because I trust His character.

Through Jesus Christ, I know the Father. Through the Father, I know the Great I AM. And because He is… I know a God who will.

It’s the place where love is revealed.

The circle is empty until two people enter it.

It doesn’t create peace.
It doesn’t create trust.
It doesn’t create loyalty.

It simply reveals what each person brought into it.

Don’t walk into a relationship looking for the circle to consume you.

Walk into it bringing the healed version of yourself.

Become someone who can contribute…
not someone waiting to be completed.
