Story time and a little family history for you!

For Halloween one year, my Grandma Duncan made me a Pumpkin costume. From that point forward, my nickname became “Punkin Duncan”.

Fast forward to my Great Aunt Rita Striegel’s estate sale where I bought a snowman trinket box, made in Limoges, France. Then the obsession with tiny trinket boxes began!

I recently found this pumpkin trinket box from an online auction and thought I would use it to store the pumpkin necklace Grandma Duncan got me. I also had a charm made a year ago with “Punkin Duncan” on it in my Grandma’s handwriting!

I was recently talking my [second] cousin, Sherri who has an antique booth in Nebraska. She was telling me about how much she likes little trinket boxes too and sells them in her booth. I guess it runs in the family!

What kind of family treasures do you have that tell a story? 👵🏼

If anyone collects Limoges, I currently have a heart shaped trinket box in my booth for sale, too!

I picked up this little Uhl Pottery mug at the Feldmeyer auction yesterday. Anna Mary was my great aunt, Grandma’s sister. Their dad, my great grandpa, worked at Uhl. The mug on the left is my Grandma’s, and the one on the right is Anna Mary’s.

Does anybody remember Duncan’s Restaurant or Don’s DX in Huntingburg? Both businesses are part of family history! If you happen to have any photos, memorabilia, old advertising items, I’d love to buy them from you!

I came across an old advertising ashtray from Duncan’s Restaurant on EBay a month ago, and unfortunately, was a couple days shy of buying it before someone else did. The seller said it was against policy to message the buyer to see if I could buy it for a higher rate! No worries there, but it would be neat to see if anyone local has some items from either Don’s DX or Duncan’s Restaurant!

I added a few things to the booth today. I found another small trinket shelf, which reminds me of Grandma Duncan’s every time I find them! I also added this cute swan planter/candle holder. I’ve been holding onto it for a while but decided to sell it. I have a bigger version of it, which was always on Grandma’s dining room table. Check out some of the other things I added, too.
