We’ve had colds ‘round our house this last weekend but that didn’t stop me from making it to the Pueblo Goodwill.

I scored some amazing wovens! I figured since I haven’t finished up the Barbie hoodie I’d give you a sneak peek into what I managed to find over the weekend AND a couple extra from the stash.

How do we feel about a Barbie scrap-work hoodie on this rainy day?

Planning to pair this Barbie tee I thrifted from the Goodwill Bins in Las Vegas with this gorgeous vintage floral, this to-die-for raspberry corduroy, and then tie it all together with this light brown fleece.

Tried something new today and (probably) won’t ever do it again 😂💀

Honestly I don’t hate the way this crochet blanket turned pullover is coming along, but the fibers coming off of it can’t possibly be good for my machine. 😅

so, while I don’t hate it, I probably won’t make crochet up-cycles a part of the ongoing lineups.

👋 Welcome to all of the new faces!
I’m Brie, the creator behind Loose Ends.

I’m a stay-at-home mom of two lil dudes here in Florence, Colorado, but for the last several months, I’ve been finding a new kind of purpose in front of a sewing machine.

I take people’s unwanted, unused, unworn, unliked, discarded, and donated clothing and textiles and rework them into artwork you can wear.

Loose Ends is about questioning disposability and finding potential where potential’s been deemed lost.

This hoodie is the latest proof. Built from a vintage woven blanket that was in a pile of donations. Now it’s a one-of-one structural piece with enough grit to last another lifetime.

I’m moving this out and into the world soon. Who has their eye on this one?

Wow.

It’s wild how things shift when you finally stop hiding. It took a lot of bravery for me to start posting my sewing ventures here, but I did it just to put my work out into the world. I wasn’t looking for anything or asking for help; I just wanted a place to be seen as more than a mom. Which sounds a little silly when it’s all typed out. 😂

Then, a total stranger saw me. She reached out and offered a mountain of vintage fabric she’d come across while cleaning out an old storage shed.

Her generosity may have changed everything. She gave me yards and yards of beautiful pieces that I haven’t even begun to organize or process yet because there is just so much. It’s a lot to take in. It makes me realize that when you’re brave enough to show up, the world has a way of meeting you with a kindness you didn't even know to ask for.

I’m sitting here with so much new potential and even more gratitude.
