I am beyound happy to be on an international trip with my Noonday friends to !
Just a few facts about Peru you might not know!

•The Capital of Peru is Lima.
•Peru’s population is 32 million. People here speak Spanish, Quechua
Aymara, and other Indigenous languages.
•The national currency is called the Sol, although they do accept American currency if it is in mint condition.
•In Peru people drive on the right side of the road, although lanes for traffic in Lima appear to be merely a suggestion!
•Peru is located on the western border of South America.
•It is bordered in the north by Ecuador and Colombia, in the east by Brazil, in the southeast by Bolivia, in the south by Chile, and in the south and west by the Pacific Ocean.
•Peru is a megadiverse country with habitats ranging from the arid plains of the Pacific coastal region in the west to the peaks of the Andes mountains extending from the north to the southeast of the country to the tropical Amazon basin rainforest in the east with the Amazon River.

Noonday is shining a spotlight on ending violence against women through an initiative to support IjM in PERU this Friday, March 8th for !

☀️ Did you know 4/10 women have suffered violence in last 12 months in Peru, 70% of children experienced violence, and 60,000 cases of child sexual violence in past year reported. Machismo culture, lack of justice in rural communities, the laws are present but there’s no prosecution or unity.

IJM partners with local police and government to enforce these laws. IJM supports a network of survivors to amplify their voices in Ayacucho, help with economic empowerment so women feel they can report violence.

This , this Friday, March 8th,
we are going to take a stand by supporting IJM in PERU.🇵🇪

🌍 I would love to rally my people to support 10 bracelet sets! Each set is $30. I will order for you (out of town add $4)!

The Spanish word “contigo” means “with you”—what a beautiful message to share with all the women in your life!

Day 6 of 7️⃣ Days to Peru!🇵🇪

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭: 𝐙𝐮𝐥𝐲
Zuly is an artisan in Lima, Peru where some of our brass + silver pieces are made.

She is from the Andes Mountains, born in Cusco, Peru where she was a talented ceramicist. She moved to Lima over 30 years ago to go to school. Soon after moving, she became a mother and lived with her daughter’s dad and she was not allowed to work.

He was not good to her and her daughter so Zuly decided to move away from him but needed work so that she could provide for her daughter.

When she met Noonday’s Artisan Business Partner, Madeleyne, Zuly was invited to join the team in the polish area. She is a full time artisan and has been able to support herself and her daughter through our orders. She was able to pay her daughters way through college and she is now a nurse at the hospital in Lima!🙌🏼

Zuly is now in charge of quality control and is the leader of the polishing group. She has been creating Noonday Collection jewelry for the last 6 years.
