Christmas came early!! It can't do everything, but it can do a lot! Looking forward to using this Sentro knitting machine for many cool wearable projects, and utilizing yarn I wouldn't otherwise prefer to work with.

So, while I'm being indecisive about the backpack, I decided to do a small side project. I've seen these dragon scale dice bags a few times and really wanted to give it a shot. Not too difficult, just a little time consuming.

Also, probably would be better to make with thinner yarn - this one is so stiff, it looks more like a pineapple, lol.

Uh-oh... I'm doing that thing where I almost finish a project, but I'm starting to not like it anymore and want to frog it ...

This is supposed to be a deep backpack - the strips are the handle, and 1 1/2 of the straps. Still need to make the drawstring too.

But now I'm not sure if it's too big, or if the backpack style is really what I'm going for. I might also just be thrown off by the stripey straps - solid would probably be better.

I welcome feedback!!

Well, everybody - it's been awhile! Between having a baby, social media account suspensions, and other life events, I now have a bit of a different direction for Gold & Twine.

My goal has always been to create beautiful, aesthethic pieces that have genuine merit - even outside of the handmade sphere. That has led me to focus on minimalist designs, a certain color palette, and a specific lineup of products.

However, while I still love those designs - it is not something I want to be confined to. Also, I am not in a position to pursue selling any items at this time. My website remains active, but I will not be accepting any orders. I am having trouble with Instagram, so for now, I will not have a presence on there either.

But there is still a future for Gold & Twine. Here, on Facebook, it will now be my platform to share my crochet creations (when I do have time to make them) - and perhaps someday in the future, the brand I hoped to create can be returned with a new vision. For now though, it will be much more casual.

SO, as Chapter 1 of this new saga - I present the underpinnings of an autumn themed bag. Source: my scrap yarn bin with the neutrals & oranges. Working with a new size crochet hook - 2.5mm - and I'm liking how tight the stitches are. I'm going to try to do a round a day, and document my progress.
