10 years in 10 pictures:
How do you describe a decade of doing something?
We went back to day 1 to reflect what it’s been like to be in business since July 2016.

Some of these photos truly show how far we incinerated the envelope of representing drum apparel.

It didn’t matter the location or what element of weather we endured, the drums got played and the photos got shot.

Some underwater, others on fire, mostly safe and at times very dangerous.

As we continue to celebrate our 10 year anniversary collection DO NOT DESTROY, we will pull out the hard drives to share more photos and keep digging to find old apparel pieces (some will return).

Keep your notifications for our posts on so you don’t miss the launch of 3 brand new snares from 3 different drum builders.

They are being built as we speak and the waitlist is growing, to be added to it hit the bio link and join The Drum Club.

This year we are beginning a brand new business plan for Destroy A Drum, if you think you’ve seen it all - you haven’t seen nothing yet.

A Master of Motion:
We don’t talk enough about how many drummers at a high performing level could’ve been asked to sit on the throne for Neil Peart.

We don’t talk enough about how many drummers who are known for being off the wall Rush fans, post covers of their replica Neil kits, and can also play those parts immaculately lick for lick.

We don’t talk enough about the power, passion, and professionalism of • A N i K A ~ N i L L E S •

From back in the day when she first came on the scene, there was something about her individuality and dedication to the instrument that set her apart.

World-class character and an intense drive to show you how dedicated she is to her instrument and expressing every note.

She’s the top tier choice for not only Rush but also for when we saw her live with Jeff Beck

At the time with Beck, she played with such courage and compassion that equally matched his intensity. A thrilling duel that made you sit at the edge of your seat. And to everyone’s surprise….they opened the show….with no chance of any band able to follow up that level of phenomenal craftsmanship.

Now with Rush, she continues to burn bright and completely sets it off live with an approach that shows her individuality.

She stands firm in her playing, making the parts her own and emphasizing the dream drum fills as well as the minuscule nuance grooves.

The only choice Rush could’ve made to emphasize not only the impact of Neil Peart but the future of where the band is going…time might stand still but Anika Nilles stands the test of time.

She’s showing drummers around the world you too can play for the biggest band in the world and arguably fill the shoes of the biggest drummer known around the globe.

She’s a true role model for female drummers and she holds the highest regard to musicianship that plays with the utmost grace under pressure, she’s Anika Nilles and SHE DESTROYS

The Beginning of The End:
Hi, Arturo owner of Destroy A Drum here.
First and foremost, thank you to everyone who placed an order while we were out of office for our annual off the grid company trip to the Rocky Mountains to regroup and focus on the important things in life.

Shipping resumes on Monday.

Our ten year anniversary collection Do Not Destroy launching in the fall is both the beginning and end of a plan I’ve had for the last 10 years.

The reason it’s the beginning is because it’s the start of what I’ve always wanted, to build our own snare drums in the way I know a great one of a kind drum would sound.

Running a drum shop for a few years, I got to experience what it was like to build 1 of 1 snares with John Good at DW and since then I knew I would have my own drums to give to the world one day.

The reason it’s the end is because we will no longer be known as an apparel company.

The last 10 years each collection has included 30-50+ brand new clothing products with artwork inspiration ranging from painters, to movies, and music.

Now as you have seen recently we have shifted to utility products.

Our Goat Leather Drumstick Bags are all over U.S. carried in your favorite local drum shop and our Tom Tone Muffle is the latest drum dampening product on the market taking it by storm.

From here on out that’s what you can expect from Destroy A Drum, more utility products you can use to make your job as a drummer easier.

While we will always have our core logo apparel products, the range in availability will be extremely low.

To be exact, only 3 textile products will be released at a time with a limit of 12 each.

High end pieces ranging from heavyweight tees, to machine shop button ups, and 1 of 1 denim jackets.

Per usual, nothing will be restocked including the snares which for our 10 year anniversary will be limited to 10 in each of the metal, wood, and acrylic variations.

Jump on the waitlist by joining The Drum Club for free on the site.

Thank you to all the Destroyers who have been with us since day 1. If you’re just joining us, wondering what all this Destroy stuff means hit the site & read our about page.

As always, KEEP ON DESTROYING

RIP to the deepest pocket out of Texas. Frank Beard not only held down one of the tightest bands but he paved the way for drummers to know their place amongst a power house of a three piece band that is ZZ Top

Forever the man who could lay down a shuffle front and backwards and make it his own. We will always crank up that T**h groove and honor his rhythm that had us moving.

Thank you Frank.
