Don’t sleep on the Appleland Community Closet at The Mercantile in G**s Mills. All items 50¢ each through the end of August before the prices skyrocket to a financially devastating $1 per item and $2 for coats in September. 🙃😉

They’re only open Wednesdays 1–4 and Saturdays 9–noon, so you’ve got six hours a week to get your thrift together.

I’m dropping off a big batch of freshly cleaned modern clothing today and another collection on Saturday. Vintage may be my thing, but I’ve found some of my favorite personal pieces there, including my favorite Levi’s, plus loads of great clothes for my 22-year-old son.

It’s also a fantastic place to donate. Their overflow goes to shelters and other charitable organizations, so your closet clean-out can actually do some good.

Shop. Donate. Rewear. At these prices, you can be a big spender with pocket change!

Vintage 1970s Lipstick Red Ruffled Maxi Dress

Size: XS/Small | Approx. UK 8 / US 4

Price: $95

Stunning 1970s maxi dress in a vivid lipstick red with loads of romantic, feminine detail. Features a fitted bodice with a high ruffled neckline accented by a rhinestone bow, sheer puff sleeves with double-ruffled cuffs, a sash-style waist, and a dramatic full skirt with tiered ruffles.

*Rear zipper
*Fully lined except for the sheer yoke and sleeves
*Non-stretch polyester
*Dry clean only

Condition: Very good vintage condition. There is a small pull on one tier of the skirt, but it is not noticeable when worn.

Modeled on a modern size 4 mannequin. Please note that I was not able to zip the dress completely up the back on the mannequin.

All items have been hand-washed in unscented detergent or professionally dry cleaned unless otherwise stated. I use only real models or mannequins in my photos. No Ai. This particular dress is modeled by voice actor/musician Grey Delisle.

🐝If you’ve ever heard me say, “I’m overwhelmed. I have a million things to do. I’m way too busy to socialize…”

Sometimes that means I’m doing taxes, working on a photoshoot, pulling wardrobe for a movie, or dealing with actual grown-up responsibilities.

And sometimes it means I’ve lost an entire afternoon decorating a cross-eyed mannequin head with a beehive hairdo so she can properly display my collection of floral and bug jewelry.

“Busy” is a very broad term around here. Some days I’m handling business. Some days I’m just *winging it*.

I may not be an artist in the traditional sense, but perhaps I have a little pollen-tial. 🐝🌸🌻

Ginger Snaps Vintage is open 10–3 today, with oodles of new vintage and modern apparel.

Friends, I’m ready to come out of hiding and face the music. Ginger Snaps Vintage will be back to regular hours this weekend!

I had grand plans for my little closed-door intermission last weekend/last week. I did get quite a bit accomplished, but naturally, the more I worked, the more projects came crawling out of the woodwork. The perfectionist in me would happily keep the doors locked until every last idea was perfectly in tune, but frankly, I miss your faces.

So I’m lifting the veil, opening the doors, and getting back to my regularly scheduled programming. There are still a few things hiding up my sleeve, but I suppose I’ll have to play those by ear.🎶👂

Dear Ginger Snaps Vintage Fans,

Your favorite little G**s Mills vintage hideout will be closed Monday, July 27, through Thursday, August 6, while I go behind the scenes for a little revamping, restocking, and general shop fussing.

There’s quite a bit hiding up my sleeve. Expect a large new collection of jewelry and accessories, plus multiple boxes of vintage clothing arriving from Los Angeles next week. Apparently, my idea of “taking a few days off” involves receiving boxes, moving furniture, and creating more work for myself.
